Bandai Tamashii Nations S.H. MonsterArts Alien Warrior Action Figure by Bandai
From the Manufacturer
A brand new series has debuted in the S.H.MonsterArts line! From 2004's Alien vs. Predator, the sleek reworking of the original Alien design has been accurately replicated in figure form, right down to the translucent head structure and bony armor plating. Thorough research has allowed for superb detail in the sculpt, bringing out all the fine details almost impossible to see on-screen. The segmented tail is the main attraction of this figure, with each section a separate poseable piece. Adding to its ferocity, the tip of the already dynamic tail has then been sharply molded in diecast: lethal! Accessories include a finely detailed egg chamber and the famous juvenile form of the Warrior, the chestburster. The S.H.MonsterArts Alien Warrior represents a new pinnacle of excellence for Alien action figures. Pose all together with the upcoming S.H.MonsterArts Predator World to experience all the non-stop action first hand.

When I first opened the box, I was a little disappointed with how small it is. With the tail attached it looks a little bigger, but up against other, bigger figures, it looks less imposing than it should.
The die cast metal tail tip is cool, makes it feel sharp. Problem is, with all the joints in the tail, it can't hold the weight too well, and the tail won't hold position.
The Chestburster accessory has a little curl at the end of it's tail, making it impossible to stand without leaning it against something. The Egg would be cooler if you could open it and see inside, but as it is, it's just a hard little piece of plastic.
Still, I can't get over how cool it looks. I was on the fence and shopping around about what Alien figure to bite on and I'm glad I got this one.
However, before focus on the negatives, I will list the positives. The figure itself is stunning. The level of detail, for this price point, is unmatched. The articulation of the figure, along with the included stand, can lead to some awesome poses. The alien egg accessory looks great when placed next to the character, but I would much rather see a facehugger included instead of the chestburster.
Unfortunately, the tail is constantly snapping off in two places when touched. The tail is actually a separate piece than the figure, and is supposed to be connected when removed from the packaging. Maybe it is just my figure, but the ball connection doesn't actually lock into the socket. This leads to the tail falling off any time it is touched. On top of that, another section constantly breaks off when trying to position the tail. The weight of the tip at the end also prevents it from staying in an upward position. The mouth also doesn't extend as far as out as the manufacturer's images show.
Based on the price, I can't forgive the tail issues...no matter how much I want to.
this is really not a toy. as others have noted here. this an articulated statue. many points of articulation. but USE CARE when posing or it WILL come apart. the tail is the most fragile thing here. this model is very nicely sculpted and detailed. but it is mainly simple 'ball and socket' joints.
when i got mine and took him out of the box. his left middle toes fell off. and attaching the segmented tail was a chore. but i managed to get him into a nice pose and change the pose every so often. it IS very cool. but maybe not worth the price.
if you want to get this. just keep in mind. it IS fragile. it IS sometimes frustrating to pose. but im overall happy with it. i cant give it 5 stars for the above mentioned reasons. but still a neet addition to any ALIEN fans collection.
