Because this product features precise articulation where the wings will maintain the position they are posed in, breakage may occur when wings are pushed beyond their full range of articulation. To avoid breaking the wings, please use caution when moving them so as not to force the wings beyond their maximum range of movement.

Sure, the design, movement and articulation is wonky. It's not ideal. But it's not fragile... I'd say it's more vulnerable than anything - the sheer size and mechanism it employs causes them to be consistently in harm's way. I've had The King for a few weeks now, and as long as you know the wing's limitations and how it articulates, you should be fine. In hindsight, it might've been to Bandai's benefit to incorporate a ball joint mechanism instead (which is odd b/c everything else is on a ball joint), and to also use a lighter, softer plastic for the wings. But I don't design the toys. I buy'em.
I have a much bigger beef with the included accessories: the beams. The execution for this is just plain LAZY. C'mon, Bandai. Too much room for improvement left on the table.
But let me also state that this mold is really something else. Breathtaking. He. Simply. Looks. GLORIOUS. I just couldn't resist the temptation of matching Godzilla with his arch-nemesis on my shelf. And let's face it, we all know it takes two for Godzilla to tango.
I was in shock! I'd never seen anything so frightening yet so awesome before.
I've sought a good reproduction of this legendary creature for years... models, plastic figures, PVC figures... non quite grasped that "look: of the old school King Ghidorah...but here it is!
Fantastic detail. Lots of articulation. Perfect look of the first "Monster Zero" King Ghidorah! A true work of ART. Perfectly matching the great looking S & H Godzilla in scale. S&H is finally creating the Godzilla monsters in the perfect detail, and total articulation, they have always deserved. Well done!
So beautifully made, it's like a stop motion movie prop, and it can be displayed in full view of a cocktail party of adult hispters with no sense of embarrassment - this is not really a child's toy. It's an object of Art.

This figure is in proportion to the 1994 Godzilla figure, it’s about 10 inches (250mm) tall. The neck and tail are very articulated with several ball joints. The body has a joint that only moves slightly, the legs have several joints but are kind of limited around the hips. Some people have pointed out that the wings are the weak point in this figure and several people have broken the joints which attach the wings to the body. It’s some sort of double hinge and the plastic inside is not that strong (plus the wings are heavy). People have said it’s safer to move the wings by bending them from the base instead of the wing tips and that they will not extend over 180º. It’s too bad the internal hinges weren’t made of a stronger material (or even metal). The details in the eyes, the tongue, the horns, the scales, are very nice in this figure and even the membranes on the wings look as if they are flexible (but they aren’t). The left wing joint is a bit loose on mine and it seems to be the case with others too. The right leg on mine seems really stiff. The neck for right head seems to show the joints (gaps) more than the other two necks. Overall, it looks quite nicely. Probably best not to play around with the wings though.
