I was fortunate enough to have my shipment arrive on-time and undamaged. I won't deny that 11-year-old me was shrieking with happiness (thankfully, 31-year-old me was methodical and careful when opening everything up). Both the shipping box and actual figurine box were in good condition.
I didn't notice the instructions until I was putting everything back. They were tucked behind the pink cardboard background piece inside the box. Because of this, I was uncertain as to how to remove her face - which sounds much creepier than it is. I finally figured out that I needed to pull her bangs/fringe straight forward away from the front of her body, and they popped right out. Her face quickly followed. The hands were easier to figure out - pop off, pop on.
The crying face easily made this a worthwhile purchase for me. My friends have been laughing at the pictures I've shared so far.
The figurine is very posable - about as flexible as you'd expect from a small figure with limited ball joints. It only takes a bit of finagling to get her into her classic poses.
The little plastic stand that comes with the figurine is a bit weird, but the arm is stable enough and very good at holding the figurine in place.
All in all, I'm very pleased with this purchase.
After opening and trying to position the figure, though, I find that it is VERY awkward to manage. Her torso easily disconnects at the waist and doesn't seem to securely snap into place. Her arms completely fall off after barely touching them. I finally just got her into a basic pose and leave her on my shelf. I don't know if I received a defective figure, but my concerns with this were enough to warrant cancelling my pre-order of Mercury & Mars.
With these craftsmanship problems, I can't justify spending $40 each for the remaining figures.
Sailor Moon's packaging is really pretty. It's colorful and eye catching I love that all the figures from the S.H. Figuarts line are imported from japan with minor changes to the American packaging. They just slap on the American logos of the figures perspective show & it's exactly what they did for Sailor Moon. Although it is small and almost unnoticeable, Bandai used the new Sailor Moon logo that we have seen in recent Sailor Moon merchandise at the bottom of the box. Since it is a japan import the box's lettering and the toy's instructions are in Japanese. Which isn't a problem since the toy is pretty much self explanatory.
The Sailor Moon figure looks nice over all, the paint application is flawless. I got lucky and I was delivered one with no paint issues. There is no paint chipping, no paint blots, no paint smudges, nor any off center paint applications. They got every little last detail of Sailor Moon's character design down to the tea. Even her accessories are very detailed & nicely painted. It blows my mind on how they fit so much small details on a fairly small figure. Her blonde hair is translucent at the tips of her bangs and the tips of her pigtails which is a nice touch to the figure. I do wish they did some sort of shading on her clothing and more shading on her hair.Read more ›
I bought mine (verified purchase) from Amazon because shipping was free which made it cheaper than ordering from Hobby Link Japan or AmiAmi ( AmiAmi- who have terrible customer service and can be impossible to get a response form if something goes wrong)
As of almost a year later, Amazon no longer sells this figure's First Edition, and all ones listed are sold by third parties. I would NOT recommend going that route unless it is being sent directly from Japan (which will make shipping much more expensive), because there are ALOT of cheap Chinese bootlegs being sold on Ebay that use the stock photos of the real thing and send you the fake. Buying from a third party raises the risk of getting a fake. This was available on Amazon for $36.99.
This is actually a very well done and detailed figure especially in comparison to the petit figures that have error filled paint jobs.
I have 2 other S.H Figuarts and my only few complaints are that the faces can be kind of hard to switch out and remove, and they can be kind of difficult to get to stand up (this came with a stand and my others did NOT and would need to be propped up out of box if i chose to display them). This figure (and one of my two others) are actually kind of stiff and hard to pose without something popping off. Luna does not stand at all and was not given the little sand she should have gotten. Still it's much higher quality than the Megahouse Petits that had so many paint error problems and defective stands, and if you only get one SM figure- as of March 2014, chose this one.

Figure is awesome and has great accessories including Luna and the her crescent wand with and without the silver crystal mounted on it. Only downside are the joints. Read morePublished 6 months ago by moonfox

A great gift for any Sailor Moon fan; wouldn't recommend it for small children due to small parts- wand, extra faces.Published 8 months ago by linda Wilgus
