I read Pamela's first book in 2012 after doing some research on the Bank on Yourself or Infinite Banking concept that was brought to my attention in late 2011. I had met with a financial adviser in 2011 to discuss our finances and retirement. After reading 1st book, my wife and I decided to contact a BOY adviser in our home state to open a policy for each of us. Our adviser was really cordial, professional and helped us start the policy in early 2013. It was easy to understand and the concept make sense to me. I am pretty familiar with money, finances, stocks, futures, etc., so I got the gist of how this works.

One year later we received our first Annual Statement and we both are pleased. Our cash values did actually exceed Guarantee and Projected amounts for the end of 1st year. Everything looked good and we are proud to be part of this BOY Revolution! We have a clear picture of what our money will be in the future -- short and long term. As planned we will use our funds (Cash value) for investments, auto purchases and expensive trips! Of course, retirement planning is our main goal and we are well on our way!

Earlier this year, we received Pamela's latest book..."The Bank On Yourself Revolution", from our BOY Adviser as a gift. I read the book in less than 2 days and it is even more informative than her first book. It is well written -- explains more of the concept in detail and really shows what the BOY process can do by her cleverly using the Boat, mast, sail and rudder analogy. There are also charts and graphs in the book to further explain how the Bank on Yourself concept when fully utilized can really help financially during your "living" years and help during "retirement".

I am not a Certified Bank on Yourself agent. I have been a licensed life insurance agent for over forty-five years. I have been published four times in a national insurance trade magazine, and I have been answering questions on life insurance and retirement questions for over ten years at AllExperts.com. I share all of this as background as to my respect for what Pamela Yellen has written.
Of all the authors that I have read over the years, Ms Yellen has made the clearest factual presentation of what Whole Life insurance is capable of doing. While BOY is not the right program for everyone, as Ms Yellen says herself, for those who practice it, this is the safest way to accumulate funds for future purchases and retirement. The principles she teaches work. And her sailboat analogy is the best explanation of the BOY design I have ever read.

This book is the only book you need!

Not only is it packed with useful and on-point information, but it is a fascinating read for a book about personal finance. I found myself highlighting and bookmarking so many pages that I now consider it a "reference book" on the subject. I especially noted the “Mythbusters” scattered throughout the book.

Pamela Yellen's first Amazon.com best-selling book, "Bank On Yourself", was released five years ago. It is still a great resource for understanding the basic concept, and it is full of stories from people who have been banking on themselves, proving that it works as advertised, every time it is tried. But this sequel stands out for its emphasis on the development of the concept details.

Have you always followed Wall Street’s conventional wisdom when it comes to investing? You may not be so sure about their advice after you read Chapter 2.

Are you stuffing lots of your income into your company’s 401(k) plan? You might decide to quit putting your money in “jail” after you check out Chapter 5.

Do you think it’s too late to take advantage of the BOY concept because you are in your late 50’s or older? You really need to read Chapter 10.

Because this concept is so powerful, and it will allow you to grow your wealth without risk, there are lots of folks who don’t like it. They write negative reviews here and put up negative web sites. All I can say is that BOY must be working for lots of people, or those folks wouldn’t bother. (They probably didn't read this book, either.)

In school we are introduced to civics. The topic of investing for retirement is so important and so many -- don't know what they don't know -- that this should be required in all homes, schools and colleges.

After discovering Pamela Yellen's first book "Bank on Yourself" a few years ago and starting my own plan, I am here to tell you it has been so beneficial to me and my family and has been the best investment we ever made. My husband and I plan to continue to expand our retirement savings by investing in ourselves! As Generation Xers, we did everything "The Establishment" told us was the way to grow wealthy. We invested in real estate, we maxed out our 401K contributions, we became entreprenuers, we invested in the stock market. What do I have to show for all of that today? A paultry return on my 401K that barely covers the fund expenses, real estate that is under water, etc. The only investment that has grown for our family and also been available to us at a moments notice as an emergency fund has been our Bank on Yourself policy. We truly feel our financial future has been hijacked by Wall Street and the US Banking industry. These institutions are not there for the average American, they have simply found an incredible method to transfer wealth from America's middle class to the top 1%!

In this, her second book, Pamela does an excellent job of comparing this low risk method of building a safe nest egg for your future to the volatile methods that we have been told are the only way to build wealth. You would be doing yourself a great disservice to not at least consider her logic and methods.

The book is an easy read, finished in two nights.
