The most biased, disgusting book I have ever read! Supposed to be bio for Obama but turns out to be pity party for poor Obama who blames all his bad choices on TV, movies, and white Americans! I'm his age, raised poor, black and now successful. I blame nothing on anyone or anything. I own my decisions. This book promotes racism !

I read the reviews and decided to read the book for myself. It is not as bad as some are trying to portray, but there are many instances where the race of a person is randomly placed. This only bothers me because there is no need for it, we know Obama is black so repeating that fact is silly. This book is a conditioning tool being used to further separate us by the color of our skin. I don't care that Obama is black, I do care that the book emphasises this fact over and over again. In the 43 pages that constitutes the "body" of this book race is referred to 25+ times. Why? What is the point? I have a good idea on why someone would emphasize something that much, but I'll let you draw your own conclusions. Personally, I do not see why children would care about the color of someone's skin; they are children who cannot yet understand the complexity of such abstract concepts. If the author was truly trying to stay neutral trivial facts would be omitted. We don't care that Obama didn't know what it meant to be "black" or "white" or "purple" or "insert color of choice," we care that he is just a crappy president. <-off topic of the book, but still gets the point across.

Also the author states that Obama tried drugs... not something I want my child to know until she is old enough to understand. Not needed as the role of president is a role model for many young children.

There is an organization "Education Action Group Foundation, Inc." fighting against the implementation of the Core Curriculum in the nation's schools.

Folks should know they are urging all the posters on their website to come over to Amazon and post their negative comments re two paragraphs in Jane Sutcliffe's bio "Barack Obama."

As a retired teacher I would have changed some of the wording, ie "our future president" instead of "Barry" and perhaps be less explicit re drugs, smoking and alcohol since this is for fourth graders.

But overall the biography tells a good story about our president, his multi-cultural background and upbringing, emphasizing that we all can accomplish our dreams.

Nothing but indoctrination and race baiting!

I give this book a 0 in rating because it is just indoctrination of the worst kind and NO school in our country should be allowed to have it. That our children are exposed to such bias and falsehoods is unbelievable. That tells us that we have to be vigilant and protect our children from this invasion eroding our country. More of a reason why I support private Catholic schools where parents have a strong influence on the curriculum. Amazing that this book was ever allowed among decent publishers.

Utter trash! Do not let your children read this garbage. Its obviously a contrived, inaccurate and off the charts racist piece of junk. Check with your schools to make sure this is NOT in their curriculum! It wouldn't let me give zero stars.

This book portrays hints of racism that is not appropriate for this age, and would offend anyone Americans at any age. Many references to "whites" and their lack of support during the election. Terrible choice.
