David Bullock was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. He holds a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Arizona, an M.A. in Communication from Washington State University, and a B.A. in Journalism from Walla Walla University. Currently, he is a member of the Walla Walla University Communications and Languages faculty, and has received multiple professional awards, including being named the Walla Walla University Distinguished Faculty Lecturer in 2013. He has been honored as a William Landeen Library Lecturer as well as a Humanities Washington Inquiring Minds Lecturer.

I am in the process of launching an online business that assist small businesses with obtaining the key resources they need to succeed, so I have been looking for resources that could provide me with insight into how to reach and connect with my target audience. So, when a friend of mine referred me to this book I was very interested to see a behind the scenes look at the strategy the Obama campaign used.

I am happy to say the book definitely lived up to the hype. The information contained within the book was not only useful, but it was practical. The authors presented the social media strategies in a format that anybody who is looking to promote a product or service could use.

With the recent explosion of social media, it is imperative that businesses (online and offline)utilize the internet to establish and grow their businesses.

This book is an absolute must read for anyone who wishes to create or improve their online presence through social media. Brent Leary and David Bullock have made this book and informative , interesting and easy read for the experienced marketer and laypersons alike.

This book is compendium of applications and strategies that Barack Obama use to help him win his Presidential nomination and ultimately the Presidency. David and Brent brings it home in this easy to understand language without complicated technical jargon. This book has inspired and educated me on how I can improve upon my online marketing efforts.

I have been following the Obama campaign since its inception and I am totally captivated by the scope of his marketing methods and have been waiting for someone to come along and put something like this together.

The book is in actuality a workbook so be prepared. Although written in a conversational format the authors reel you in from start to finish. I must caution you however, do not get a note pad and pen you're better off using a two or three subject notebook for as I stated earlier this is a book that will cause you to work. Barack Obama's Social Media Lessons For Business can literally help the entrepreneur to position themselves strategically. Barack Obama Social Media Lessons is especially great for those who are new to or need a better understanding of Internet marketing. The workbook provides great insight on how to effectively utilize many well known sites such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. It is also worth noting the authors mention several other sites that readers may not be aware of. This workbook is a definite must for anyone looking to market their product or business on the Internet. Tabitha Vinson, author of Check Your Keys I and Check Your Keys II (February 2011).

I was fascinated by the online marketing of the Obama campaign. I had heard his team was cutting-edge, but I didn't realize the extent of their endeavors. I thought this was really interesting. Not so current re: online aps anymore, but worth reading if you're interested in political marketing.

This weekend I spent a considerable amount of time, picking Mr. Bullock's brain on marketing. In short, he knows what he is talking about and has the ability to communicate real ground level usable principles. It would be a mistake to ignore what he has to say in this book. In effect, what happened in the election is a model for developing tentacles into the marketplace. And yes, there is more to it than opening a Twitter or Facebook account. There is strategy. This strategy is relevant for both big and small business and the fact of the matter is that you can bet that some element of your competition is doing it. I think this is worth the read.
