Barista by day; romance novelist by night. When I'm not writing fiction, song lyrics or Dr. Seuss-like poetry, I masquerade behind a green apron as a barista for a worldwide coffee company. I originally thought this would be a fun little job where I could escape from my writer hidey hole and get paid to socialize for a few hours a week. That was in 2003. Each year I grow closer to my goal of being the world's oldest living barista.
I'm still married to my first husband and have two wonderful children who grew up and went off and found their own happy endings. My book NOBODY'S FOOL, was in fact, inspired by (but is not based on!) my son and his high school BFF who is now his wife. Our third child, Pepper, is a spoiled almost-perfect black Lab mix.
Be sure to visit my off-the-wall fantasy-writing alter ego AJ Tillock and take a look at The Forbidden Bean, the first in the GRINDING REALITY series. These stories are inspired by my above-referenced years of working in a coffee store.
