HOWEVER and I completely disagree with the it takes 3 hrs comment that another person wrote, more like a day and a 1/2 a bottle of Gin. Thank god football was on Sunday - the boxes of parts were not labelled nor would it have mattered if they did as parts were boxed sporadically without organization for installation thought into it. I was able to do it all in my living room so you don't need a two door garage like the one guy wrote, saying that - it would not hurt to have the added space that is for sure, but the lack of space did not slow me down...
The only other thing I did not like was that there were a couple items that were damaged - not beyond repair by any means but still there was parts damaged and the box looked perfect when I received it so it seems it was packed a little damaged.
I was excited to get it and assemble it. Well packed, and arrived with no damage that I noticed. The instructions could be clearer but they get the job done. They do some things right as well. When I was putting on the hinges it wasn't clear what was top vs bottom hinge so I checked and sure enough the screw spacing was different between them so you can't get it wrong without really trying. Cool.
But then I started running into problems. The nut that holds on the smokestack lid won't fit on the post it's supposed to. The hardware manifest says it's an m6 nut. Ok. I took a thread guide I have and measured it. M6. Expected. Measured the post. M7. What? I think it just got so much of the black paint / finish on it that it became unusable. I'll have to contact the manufacturer Monday to fix that. Annoying but not a show stopper so I kept going.
A few other minor issues that I can ignore later and I run into the next major issue. The charcoal tray. There are two pieces on the bottom that secure it to the sides of the grill. Four connection points total between these pieces and the tray. Two are fixed but rotate, two slide. This allows it to change height. Problem is the sliding part is at opposite ends of each piece, meaning it has to rotate in order to raise. This clearly won't work. I suspect they gave me two 'left' (or right) pieces with one installed backwards. Terrible quality control right there. Another part they'll have to send me. Can't use the charcoal side for now.
Next issue is kinda minor but worth mentioning. The charcoal ash pan is warped. It does not say flat. You can pop it into two different slightly curved shapes. It still slides into its slot so it will work but I can imagine pulling it out and spilling ash if I'm not careful down the road.
Lastly, I finally got it all out together and tried out the gas side because all the issues I had were with the charcoal end. The middle burner of the three main burners is a pain to light (the others all light very easily) and when it does light often the last inch or two doesn't light for some reason. Maybe gas flow issues?
All in all for the price I am really disappointed. I'm giving it three stars because (assuming I get replacement parts) it's all functional. The finish seems pretty decent as well so I expect it will do well with the weather.
All pieces are properly numbered, easy to follow and install. Guidelines was easy , I finished setup in 40-50 minutes.
It’s pretty nice for medium size families and guests.
My only negative comment is the gas grill size is not very strong , even if the tank is new, the fire is not very strong . But it works and ok for most food.
