I was ecstatic when I found out that Mattel was making more made to move dolls. The only problem I have with this doll is that it is another Barbie. Her wheelchair is pink which differed from the original blue one. It is not too bad for me as I never purchased the original one. However is still looks like my other barbie made to move dolls. So the best part of is the pink wheelchair.
This is the 6th Made to Move doll I have purchased and I am so glad I picked this one. She is very pretty. My previous experience with a MTM doll was a bit of a letdown as she was defective and I didn't notice it until after the return window had expired. I was slightly reluctant to order again but I just love the articulation in the MTM line so I had to give it a shot. This doll was worth the risk. She is just lovely. She has fairly neutral face paint and a sweet expression. That does matter so much to me as I will most likely be doing a head swap. I love her skin tone. I was searching for one with a pinker tone and she does have it. I was also happy to note that her skin tone is even across the whole doll...no different colored joints. As with most MTM dolls when they are new the joints have a tendency to be a little stiff especially in the elbows. I recommend that you flex them very carefully the first few times to loosen them up. If you are giving it to a child I would definitely recommend doing that to avoid breakage. I haven't mentioned the wheelchair yet because that wasn't why I bought this doll. I got it because it has the MTM body. I most likely will not even use the wheelchair. I will say that is seems very sturdy and well-made. I like that it has a realistic paint job. The doll sits in it well and it has a clear plastic bracket to hold the doll secure for play.
I love the representation Mattel is prioritizing with Barbie. The wheelchair is of fantastic quality and includes a stand element to secure the doll in the seat. It also comes with a ramp, adding further representation. The doll itself is really lovely on a made-to-move body, which allows for fantastic articulation. I love the fashions with this doll. It comes with a patterned shirt and shorts, waist bag, and high heel shoes. I think this makes a great play doll as well as a piece for collectors.
This is made so nice. I thought the chair may be cheaply made but it's not. It's very nice and will hold up for my 6 yr old granddaughter. She loved it and the doll will be very well cared for with all her doctors and nurses she has. ha. Thanks so much. Linda

This poor doll must have broken her ankles trying to walk in those abominable heels. Also, so much potential for a truly beautiful doll but has really bad hair.
If you're looking to swap #165's made-to-move body onto another doll: her skin tone is LIGHTER than the last "Millie" wheelchair doll #132 (GGL22). This lighter tone will be a good match for some favourites with the Curvy/Daisy head sculpt (Princess Adventure Daisy, Chambray Chic #22, Careers Doctor doll). But if you're hoping to score last year's wheelchair Millie with the darker and more popular skin tone, the made-to-move doll with light blue top, red hair and freckles, is an exact match (DPP74).
