At the beach just outside his home in Malibu, TV private eye Mac Reilly and his dog Pirate save Paloma from drowning. The child explains to Mac and his lover Sunny Alvarez the cook that she was looking for him because she wants him to find her missing mother Bibi. Paloma's step-grandmother Lorenza worries about the child; the kid's avaricious stepfather wants control of Paloma's money. She calls her former lover Mac who travels to Barcelona to search for Bibi. Sunny follows him to Europe.
This is an enjoyable Reilly-Alvarez investigation as the California pair takes Barcelona by storm. The breezy story line is fast-paced with terrific settings and a strong support cast although the missing person's case is thin. Series fans will appreciate the Malibu mates return to Europe (see It All Began in Monte Carlo and There's Something about St. Tropez).
I was very interested in reading this particular novel, but that was only because after Sunny almost ran off with another man in "It All Began in Monte Carlo," I was interested to see the roles reverse. Now it is Mac who has someone new (or old) when he meets up again with his first love and old flame, Lorenza.
I'd honestly hoped to see her fight for Mac as much as Mac fought for her. And when she packed up and set off for Barcelona, I was relieved! I remember thinking, finally, a woman who not only demands that her man fight for her but who is also willing to do the same for him. And then she, Allie, and Ron get to Barcelona and it all goes downhill from there. I think the reason that I'm so irritated is because, unlike Sunny, Mac had never even thought about cheating on her with Lorenza. Yes he thought she was attractive and yes he had fond memories of her but never, NEVER, did he even come close to betraying Sunny that way. She, on the other hand, had been fully prepared to leave him behind for someone else and it took her friends, Allie and Ron, to talk her out of it. So when it appears that Mac has done the same thing, do any of them extend him the same courtesy? Heck no! They bundle Sunny up like the whinny little baby she is, wrongly label Mac a cheating bastard, and take off.Read more ›
Her writing is never disappointing. She has excellent plots and locations her books takes one. She has wonderful knowledge of the places and location her books are chosen .
Her stories are spellbinding and interesting until the end.
Thank you dear author !
ONE OF THOSE MALIBU NIGHTS places sexy TV star Mac Reilly at the same party as voluptuous public relations consultant Sunny Alvarez. When their eyes meet, the romance begins. Their love affair flourishes on the beaches of the French Riviera in THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT ST. TROPEZ. Mac chases his beloved Sunny to Monte Carlo in IT ALL BEGAN IN MONTE CARLO after she leaves her pink, heart-shaped diamond engagement ring on his pillow on Christmas Eve. FROM BARCELONA, WITH LOVE brings Mac's first love back into his life, and readers are captivated as Mac must choose between Lorenza de Ravel and the love of his life, Sunny Alvarez.
Mac and Sunny become involved with Paloma Ravel, the young daughter of international singing sensation Bibi Fortunata, who is accused of the double murder of her best friend and lover. Without evidence, the Los Angeles police allow Bibi to simply disappear. Bibi sends Paloma to live with her family in Barcelona to protect her from the scandal.Read more ›
