What is Hydro-Brushing?

Hydro-Brushing is our proprietary Bare Home process.

The traditional method of softening fabrics is to aggressively brush the fabric until enough fibers are pulled up from the weave to mimic softness. This process greatly harms the durability of the fabric.

Hydro-brushing is a simple and effective process where we use extremely fine jets of water to wet the fabric just before it's brushed, resulting in softer, more durable bedding than our friends from different brands can offer.

Traditional bedding manufacturers follow a mantra of "Cash before Care", pumping harmful detergents into your sheets just to save some money.

Nice customer service, but product is not good. I ordered three identical quilts for my sons, with new mattress pads and sheet sets. Within a couple of months I began to notice something I’ve never seen before. The quilt filler was coming through the outer fabric in arbitrary spots. All 3 quilts. Bare stepped up and replaced all 3. Great customer service. However, I’m here again less than a year later and the same is occurring. That’s 6 quilts with the same issue. See photos.

I live in a trailer with poor insulation. The last 3 winters I kept the temperature at 50-55F (to save on electricity). I bought small sherpa blankets. However I have 3 cats, and the cardboard from the scratchers kept getting caught in the sherpa lining. I learned to buy only smooth material when choosing blankets. Four winters ago - trying to stay warm at night - I bought a sleeping bag with ?nylon? outside. It was lightweight and warm, but did not breathe. I would wake up wet from sweat. Next I bought a below zero rated sleeping bag that was cotton. I weighed 9lb and would breathe. If I kept it zipped up, it would take 10-15 min to warm up. When I woke up, again I was wet from sweat. If I opened the bag, then air circulated, but it became a blanket, not a bag. Since I am 6ft 2in, even an extra tall sleeping is a short blanket. If I pull it up to my chin, then cold air gets to my feet. This winter I tried this Comforter in King Size. I have used it for a week now. I love it and the 3 cats love it. For reasons I do not understand - the cats did not seem to like the sleeping bag. They kept trying to push it out of the way to find a spot to lay down. The day I took this out of the package, I noticed that within and hour, all 3 cats were sleeping on top of it. They love it, even when I am not under it ! ! ! At night, I use a large 5.6lb blanket, with this King Size Comforter on top (7.7lb). As soon as I lay down, all 3 cats come running to get a good spot. When I wake up in the morning, I am plenty warm, but not sweating at all. It is kind to hard to figure out why this comforter is so different from a below zero sleeping bag. The comforter is 7.7lb, and the sleeping bag is 9.1lb. Since they are similar in weight, you would think they would be similar in feel and warmth. However, the sleeping bag, though cotton, feels the same as canvas overalls from Carhart. Super tough, very heavy, and stiff (but warm). This comforter seems to be super soft, and very light, as if you covered by a layer of magic warmth that you can barely feel. When I wake up in the morning, I am not sweating at all. Since I got a king size, when I pull it to my chin, there is so much hanging past my feet, very little cold air gets to my feet. When I lay down, in 5min or so, the blankets warm up, and the cats come running. Then we all sleep like rocks. Even though it weights 7.7lb, and has the warmth of a winter blanket, it feels super light (as if it was only a 3 lb blanket). I don't understand it, but it sure feels nice on cold nights. I wish I had gotten this years ago. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT FOR ANY ONE TRYING TO STAY WARM IN A COLD HOUSE ! ! !

Purchased two of these and couldn't be more pleased. They are well constructed, The fabric and fill are both exactly what I wanted ( I was looking for a slightly lighter weight for use in a warm climate but one that would be warm on cooler nights).

After using for a period of time and washing, I did not notice any significant movement of the fill or issues with the stitching that were noted in reviews of some other comforter offerings. I can recommend there without reservation.

I love that it’s not too heavy but very warm. It’s a beautiful color. It’s not too bulky. Right out of the box there were loose threads. This has continued to be an issue and I’ve ended up sewing and in some cases stapling the edges to keep it from completely coming apart. When the threads got caught on my newborn’s toes.... that was the point that I really started to hate the comforter.

These comforters are so soft and comfy and hold up well in the washing machine. I love them! I bought myself the Twin XL in Turquoise & Purple along with the matching sheets, and I also bought my brother the Twin XL in Grey along with the matching sheets as well. One of my comforters came with some lose threads but it wasn't a big deal for me. I thought they were great for me being a college student but when my grandpa came to visit he borrowed my blanket and he loved it so much he made me order him one in a different color and size (Queen). So I guess I would say they are great for people and kids of all ages.

The shipping took a little long, but it was worth the wait.

I took a chance on this comforter because I have both black and red sheets. It just happens to match both exactly. I have a queen sized bed and bought the king comforter. I wanted it a bit longer on the sides and this works very well. It is a very nice cover for my bed and it is very warm when matched with a fleece blanket underneath. Very pleased with the fit and the finish. I have no issues with the sewing and I took a very hard look based on a few of the reviews.

one bad thing about it.. some material inside start to go out after the first washes (by some spores) and creat some white fabric filaments spots.. i can’t explain why but suspect the synthetic red/black fabric.. so, this will not be nice for longtime and i don’t recommend it!
