Dance instructor Katie Foster embarks on a trip in Mimosa Key to oversee the renovations on her aunt’s historic home. All she expects is sun, sand, a little dance, and a few fruity cocktails. What she didn’t expect is coming face to face with her past. Roman Grant, all of the hopeful, passionate, devastating feelings from eight years ago come flooding back. But Katie is stronger. Smarter. She also has a secret—one, if Roman knew, that would end their affair before the next sunset.
Especially with an ex…
An out of town job in on a picturesque island promised long days of hard work followed by nights in paradise. Roman sure as hell doesn’t expect paradise to come in the form of his ex-wife. Katie looks great, feels better, and once he gets another taste of her lips, Roman knows he’ll do anything to win her back. Now that he’s working on her aunt’s home, this gives him the exact angle he needs.
But will this time lead to forever…
The more he pursues her, the farther Katie retreats. Roman succeeds in getting her into his bed, but there’s something she’s not telling him. There’s no way he’ll pass up a shot at a second chance with Katie. Once upon a time, he vowed to stay with her forever. It’s past time to make good on his promise.
Roman Grant is in Mimosa Key for his construction business and to renovate homes. His cousin thinks it’s a great idea to set Roman up on a blind date. But Jasper doesn’t know the woman he picked – Kat – is actually Roman’s ex-wife!
Katie Foster is house-sitting for her aunt and teaching dance until her loan comes through to open her own dance studio. Imagine her surprise when Jasper sets her up to dance with Roman and that Roman is the guy her aunt hired to renovate her home. As much as Katie wants to avoid him and their past, it doesn’t seem as if she’ll be able to.
Even though Roman and Katie divorced after being married for a short time, their chemistry and attraction has not dimmed in the eight years since. Roman wants a second chance, while Katie believes they have no chance.
Just when you’re believing Roman and Katie will find their way back together, Ms. Bennett throws an emotional kick to the stomach that has you wondering if you were wrong. She makes you keep reading and pulling for these two to find their happily ever after.
“Promise Me Forever” is Ms. Bennett’s second visit to Barefoot Bay Kindle Worlds and she seems to have a theme of second chances when she does write stories set here (“Fighting for His Wife” was her first book).
Hopefully, we will get more Barefoot Bay stories from Ms. Bennett.
Roman and Katie are no strangers to each other. In fact their a divorced couple that haven't seen each other in eight years. And find themselves finding each other once again and being able to try again.
I have to say that I loved Roman in this book. I had no issue with him. It was obvious that he was sweet, kind, caring, and obviously still had feelings for Katie.
My issues with this novella come from Katie. I felt that she ran from their relationship years before for not a good reason. Yes, I understand she was young and afraid back than. But I felt like she should have given Roman the chance to decide on his own, instead of pushing him away. I also felt like when she explained to Roman why they split all those years beforehand wasn't a good enough explanation.
Although I did have my issues with this book, I did find it to enjoyable at parts.
I'm giving this book 4 Stars out of 5!!!!!!
