I had an expectation of getting more in depth with the intrinsic foot and I got this mess. It is just an oversized jargony filled pamphlet to drum up work.
Cons: poor editing and poor binding. It was falling apart half way through reading. No diagrams. A few diagrams upfront would have helped A LOT with understanding the movements she describes and I'm pretty familiar with the terminology. This is particularly true in the discussion of what is your foot type. Read it 3X and still can't picture it. You have to go to the website. While I appreciated the deeper info on her website, a few basic illustrations would have helped a lot. I did not have web access when I was reading it.
I tipped to 4 stars because of content, subtracting one for lack of visuals to show the terminology she uses. I did not subtract for editing but you have to wade through the deficits. It is a book for someone with some knowledge of anatomy, movement and technical terminology. Lay people need images and explanations. You must go to her website for that.
I disagree with an earlier reviewer that this book is suitable for laypeople. As such person, I need pictures and diagrams of foot and body parts to understand what is being discussed; even more so with proposed exercises–the “secrets” promised in the subtitle. There are none in the Kindle version I read.
So, in this age, one puts links in an e-book. That is a good idea; it is a better idea if the links actually work. In this book, they do not. The website one finds via the book links merely promotes the book; it does not display exercises promised in the book.
Perhaps a revised edition will correct these problems. Perhaps someone at the author’s publisher will actually test and correct the website. Perhaps this book will be worth even the modest cost when those problems are addressed. Until then, don't waste your time with this book.
