What's in a name?
The Rumpelstiltskin Principle is the idea that once you have the name of something, you have claimed it (have mastery or power over it)
For Autumn, her name is her brand. The personification of her jewelry business.
For Kian, it's clearing up questions of his family's honor.
The story revolves around both of them working to take control of & establish their names. Kian helps inspire Autumn in designing hers, and then Autumn helps Kian find family records that he's been searching for
Kian is a refreshing hero - he's flawed but not really outside the norm. He's a bit of a prankster whose sense of humor sometimes gets him in trouble
Autumn is a level-headed, yet fun loving heroine. She's also a very successful business woman.
They are attracted to each other, but they're both focused on their businesses & don't have time for distractions. And it doesn't help that Kian unwittingly offends Autumn.
It's amusing watching the two navigate around each other, but what I really loved was when Kian messes up bigtime, how Autumn is naturally upset, but she recognizes that it was unintentional, forgives him (after she calms down) - and things move forward as in real life.
It has a fairytale quality while still maintaining believability, & was an entertaining afternoon's read
*Clean romance level: sweet kisses, nothing graphic
Autumn was one of my favorite things about this book. She was the billionaire building a home. But she’s also helping in her dad’s shop in Eureka Springs. I love this zany little town! She and Kian keep meeting, but each time, she just finds more to be annoyed about. It takes Kian a lot of effort to get her to start liking him, even a little bit.
Kian might go about that effort all wrong! He starts playing little tricks on her that he attributes to a ghost. Autumn wasn’t sure what to believe. She has a hard time reconciling the great man he is when they’re together, with someone who may or may not be playing tricks on her.
I loved what these two find together! And it would spoil so much of the story to tell you what it was, so you’ll have to go get your own copy and read it to find out.
Kian and Autumn’s story is one of my favorites I’ve read lately!
I was sent an e-copy of Bargaining with the Billionaire as a gift from the author. All opinions are my own.
Kian and Autumn's story was an interesting take on the Rumplestiltskin story. Both interesting characters, an interesting setting, cute small town moments, and the building with the twist in it. The story of Kian's family, and the hidden secret that comes to light over the course of the story was a fun addition to the novel. Kian and Autumn's attraction, worries over her leaving town, and of course her business and all that it entails, the fundraiser, all made for an engaging and fun story. Their hesitations, their attraction, their fun honest hearts all were well drawn, and made for a perfect escape read. Loved how he leveled her out, helped her take a break from her worries, and watched over her. His kind, fun loving, caring personality made him a perfect H for me, and Autumn, finally finding someone who saw her for who she was, made this so very swoony! Great characters, fun small town setting, and loved both of their interests and back stories, plus of course their lovely, sweet attraction to each other! More of a 3.5 for me as a reader, but rounded up.
I recieved an ARC from the Author in exchange for a fair and honest review, my opinions are my own.
