Sparkle Abbey is the pseudonym of two mystery authors (Mary Lee Woods and Anita Carter). They are friends and neighbors as well as co-writers of the Pampered Pets Mystery Series. The pen name was created by combining the names of their rescue pets—Sparkle (Mary Lee’s cat) and Abbey (Anita’s dog). They reside in central Iowa, but if they could write anywhere, you would find them on the beach with their laptops and, depending on the time of day, with either an iced tea or a margarita. These are light, entertaining mysteries that includes dogs. Lot's of dogs and the people who own make for a lighthearted look at murder and how they all intertwine. This series is really good if you are looking for pure entertainment without all the blood, guts and gore that can go along with the darker mysteries. These books are what I am always looking to read now and I look for authors who can write a great mystery that I can read before going to sleep without nightmares. Great reading and I would suggest starting with the first in the series. I love them all.

Sometimes when reading a series it’s hard to stay as interested 5 or 6 books in. What I like about the Pampered Pets series is the alternating between the two main characters. Also enjoy the other characters and look forward to seeing their development.
