They offer free classes if you need help, and the last time I went in to B and N, the Nook employee updated some stuff for me. I am on a first name basis with her, she is so sweet!
My husband and I have given out Nooks to our parents, who are in their 80's and love to be able to go and talk to someone if they are not sure about something on the Nook.
The Barnes and Nobles folks are so friendly and helpful. The Nook specialist put on a screen protector for me for free when I first got my Nook, She said she had an extra one, and was happy to help, but don't tell anyone!
I have been in different B and N stores and they are all the same nice helpful folks.
You cannot beat that service.
I am in a book club, we all have kindles or Nooks. The kindle group always have questions about how to do something, we Nook people don't, because we have access to help, a real person to talk to.
You register your Nook online, and it is all free, there is no fee of any kind, I have heard nasty rumors to the contrary, there is no monthly fee.
B and N have more books to access than kindle, plus if you go into the store, you can read any B and N book free while in there.
It is so easy to download any ebook from your library on the Nook. So you don't have to buy books if you don't want to.
How can you not choose Nook?
I should work for their company!
The cushion effect is also good for setting it down; I feel like it's safer not only from a drop, but even from being jarred when transferred to a tabletop or other flat surface.
The skin was cut perfectly, with cutouts in exactly the right place for the USB connector, speaker, headphone jack, and the corner caribiner/memory card area. The on/off button and volume controls are covered, but the material there is thinner than the rest of it, making it very easy to use the buttons.
I got the "clear" cover instead of the black version because this silicone material tends to show dirt and animal hair, and this color is better for that. It's not really clear, it's more of a translucent white, but it's a nice counterpoint to the black of the Nook.
The only way I can think of to make this better is to have a handle/loop on the back to put your fingers through while using it. But this is easily a 5-star item that meets my need and makes me glad I bought it.
The keychain, by the way, is made of a material similar to the skin, although stiffer and not translucent, and is built to coil a set of earbuds/earphones around. It has 2 pinch points to hold the ends in place.
I would have given it 5 stars if it were a little more snug around the sides.

This cover protects just the outside of the nook. It can get fuzzy depending on where you keep it. So be careful.Published on June 25, 2014 by Maria
Gel cover is smooth to the touch and won't slip in your hands, like the tablet does without the cover.Published on June 27, 2012 by modryrox
