About the Author
As an urban child, Barbara's getaway from the noise and fast paced city was escaping into the world of books. She lived the lives of characters and subsequently played with alternative scenarios in her own imagination. She created her own plots, added her own role, and changed the world. When she grew up, she realized just how little a person can change in the society, but the habit of alternative scenarios remained. In her own words, Barbara describes her writing as:
"The most talented writer in the world is the life itself, and my books are alternative scenarios of what I read in it."
Often, you will recognize the seeds of her imaginary future dystopian societies in our present, and hopefully it will make you look at things differently. The books she writes deal with intelligent individuals, well-educated, absolutely aware of the world around them, well-read, wise; and their clash with societies whose targets are usually those individuals. Why intelligent and wise individuals are dangerous to any regime is best described in this quote by Osho:
"No Society Wants You to Become Wise"
No society wants you to become wise: it is against the investment of all societies. If people are wise they cannot be exploited. If they are intelligent they cannot be subjugated, they cannot be forced into a mechanical life, to live like robots. They will assert themselves--they will assert their individuality. They will have the fragrance of rebellion around them; they will want to live in freedom...

The characters are very warm, relatable and engaging (not the bad guys of course - they are ruthless and unscrupulous, as they're supposed to be!). There are some major plot twists along the way that keep you guessing, one particularly comes as a surprise and gives you one of those "wow" moments, which I always enjoy. The main character Stella struggles with certain disastrous personal events in her life, as well as some positive and unexpected ones. We follow her personal journey throughout the story.
This is a very intriguing and engaging story, and if you give it a go you won't be disappointed! It is intelligently-written, extremely creative and well-constructed and really draws you in and keeps your attention for the entirety of the story. Clearly, a lot of thought and love has gone into this story. It is essentially dystopian but has many different overlapping-genre elements, such as sci-fi, romance, perhaps even thriller etc. (We can only hope that real life does not deteriorate to this sad state of affairs in future, as described in the book!).
It has a happy ending, which is my favorite kind! It is also a satisfying, decent length (like a "real" book should be!). A truly high-quality read. I highly recommend this for people looking for a "meaty", all-absorbing read that they can really become involved in and sink their teeth into.
The book is a mix of politics, romance, and suspense all wrapped around our main character Stella Graham. Stella at 27 years old finds herself living at her parents' home without any jobs available in her country.
Stella finally gets a job with the Gobal REN Corporation, building glasses that have 3d mapping abilities. This is really where the story starts for Stella, if kept on outlining I would give too much of the story away.
This story is an amazing read! There are so many ups and downs and twists in the story that it will keep you wondering what will happen next, and it will also keep you turning the pages. This a highly recommended read.
There was some twist and turn that make it even more interesting. Overall, I did enjoy this novel due to the strong storyline and surprises that it throws at you. If you like your love stories to be unique, and not on the "romance style" of writing, this book is for you!
