Product Format An extensive review of the human body's structural framework and describe how it functions A hands-on learning tool for students and medical practitioners An All-in-One Anatomy Reference and Study Aid
Product Highlights Each of 23 chapters covers a separate system of the body and includes review questions with answers. The book is filled with charts, diagrams, and instructive line illustrations. Charts, graphs, diagrams, line illustrations, and where appropriate, amusing cartoons help make learning E-Z in a variety of subjects. Barron's E-Z books are self-teaching manuals focused to improve students' grades in skill levels that range between senior high school and college-101 standards. Learning and naming the many parts and systems of the human body can be a daunting task for student nurses, as well as for other students preparing for careers in the various scientific and medical professions. This highly original book helps make learning a great deal easier. Hundreds of anatomically accurate line illustrations show human body parts and readers are encouraged to shade them in with colored pencils. It’s a simple physical task intended to imprint on students’ memories the shape and location of each body part, making later visualization and memory retention much easier. The book has a spiral binding hidden beneath the cover’s spine so that pages lie flat for easy coloring. Other features include: tabbed chapter openers for quick reference; extra-heavy paper that minimizes show-through; every body system and part is presented; and all parts labeled with correct anatomical names. An extra feature is a set of eight transparent overlays illustrating the human body. They simulate the peeling away of layers of tissue to reveal anatomical features, such as muscles, bones, organs, and circulatory system. The overlays are bound into the book with 'scissor-perf' lines that show students where to cut. In addition to a substantial and instructive text, it features 144 two-color pages and 32 additional pages in full color. Students preparing for careers in various medical professions will value this highly detailed and profusely illustrated reference guide. Fourteen chapters show, label, and define all human body regions and parts and describe physiological processes. The chapter titles are: Body Overview; Cells and Tissues; The Skeletal System; The Muscular System; The Nervous System; Special Sense Organs; The Lymphatic System; The Circulatory System; The Respiratory System; The Digestive System; The Urinary System; The Endocrine System; and The Reproductive System. The book's fifteenth and final chapter provides students with a workbook that presents labeled line illustrations of the human body's muscle and skeletal systems. Students are encouraged to color in individual muscles and bones as an effective aid to memorizing the names and locations of each part. More than 500 color illustrations.

Great design, sharp print and slightly damaged

Great design, sharp print and slightly damaged
The layout and print quality are very satisfying. To me, the set hits just the right balance of detail and clarity. Being able to manipulate individual cards has this stimulating effect that electronic resources just don't have. It piques curiosity and aids learning by driving me into more hands-on interactions with the cards.Especially love the thumb tabs for organization. I can take individual sets and my tote bag will weigh much less than when I carry my pocket book around (also by Barron's).Sadly, my box arrived in a state less cheerful than I wishes, with crumpled corners or torn corners, some tabs chipped. I love perfect details and it really took me a while to decide not to go for an exchange. All the carbon emission for shiping things back and forth. The delivery guy was very gentle. He arrived as I was out on the front yard and handed the package to me. No throwing or dumping. The damage was done somewhere else. I'm still happy the the flash cards and look forward to all the learning.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth every penny. If you're taking Anatomy & Physiology, this is more crucial than your textbook
Reviewed in the United States on July 19, 2018
I am taking Anatomy and Physiology 1&2 during the summer and it is a rapid course, These flashcards were a time-grade-and-life saver. The cards come with a ring. They are organized by systems and numbered. Each card has a front with a picture with number labels and the answer to those labels on the back with a paragraph with further detailed explanation of how the part on the front functions or connects with the system.
Having these cards saved time from making flashcards to directly studying them from anatomically correct pictures.

Pro: quality clear pictures, detailed explanations of functions
quality box, sturdy cards
well organized system
worth the price

Con: detail level may go further than needed in class

Pictures show how each card has a number and label for what system it is apart of with the name of the structure at the bottom right, then shows the back which gives name of corresponding numbers to labels, a paragraph explanation of it's function within the system and within the structure, plus it gives an additional card numbers for structures associated with the card.
