I got this for a friend who loves sour things. I figured she'd want to mix it in to drinks and things to make them more biting, but instead she just eats it out of the bag. Some people are pretty weird like that, but if you like sour stuff or need to make something more sour and don't feel like using something a little less space age (like a lemon), this stuff will not disappoint. Or, you know, if you want to just eat citric acid out of a bag.

This product was delivered even earlier than I had expeced. It is inexpensive and it is good for many purposes: • When I make jam or jellies and run out of lemon juice I substitute it with citric acid • My oak kitchen butcher block counter sometimes gets spotty between oiling. A paste of water, citric acid and salt rubbed on the spot makes it disappear in no time. • The same works for red wine on a white tablecloth. t has to be done immediately, though • Dipping fruit into a solution of water and citric acid keeps the fruit from getting brown. •There are many more things you can do with it – just check it out on the internet! And one package lasts a long time.

Barry Farm's 4-oz. package of CITRIC ACID powder comes in a vacuum-sealed package, and seems to represent good value for the price. I purchased this product by mistake, thinking I would use it to prevent cut fruit (apples, pears, peaches) from turning brown in my brand-new food dehydrator.

You can toss cut fruit slices with lemon or orange juice to prevent discoloration during drying, but "citrus" and "citric acid" are not quite the same thing! What I actually needed was a product containing ascorbic acid. A good one is Ball® Fruit-Fresh Produce Protector, which you can find in grocery stores (in the canning aisle), or at Amazon.

As I learned from Wikipedia, citric acid is used to flavor or preserve foods and beverages, to stand in for lemon juice in recipes, to soften water, to make fizzy bath bombs, and to remove lime scale, among other things. I'll probably use my citric acid to make lemonade: you can dissolve it in cold water and add sugar to taste.

The amount of citric acid you get for the price is horrible. The quality is the same as many others, check the pricing. This one does not have anything special about it - no organic, not prepped in nut free enviro (package doesn't specify these).

It came in a good quality, resealable bag which was heat sealed at the top to prevent tampering. Shipping is reasonable if you are purchasing other items from Barry Farms. I've purchased many items from Barry Farms, and this is as good of a quality as anything else I've tried.

I bought this to make energy drinks with.

Interesting fact - it makes water taste like lemon juice. If you put this stuff, sugar, and water together, it seriously tastes exactly like store bought lemonade. This shouldn't be surprising since it is CITRIC acid after all, but I was just impressed with how citrus-y it was rather than just acid-y.

I was like "sugar, water, and citric acid... this is like the most basic flavor ever, right? This will taste like nothing, right?". Wrong. It tastes like lemonade.

When you start adding other flavors the lemonyness gets lost, but just know you can make a pretty mean clear lemonade with this stuff.

Did not come in a sealed package, but in a small ziploc bag. Will not use it...Also, shipping was way expensive in comparison with the value of the product.

I put two tablespoons of this in my Zojirushi water boiler and run the cleaning cycle. It's a little cheaper than the official cleaner but it's actually the same thing.

This package has enough citric acid for about 4 cleaning cycles.
