a new generation of infuriating, satisfying sphere painting
a great fit as a mobile game
200 original levels!
Product description
You might think that working on the assembly line is tedious work, but not if you're manufacturing Factory Balls! Your job in this logic puzzle game is to custom craft each ball to a specific order. You've got all the tools you need to fulfill each order... except the instruction manual.
In each level, you'll see the target design of your ball on the shipping box. Starting from a plain white ball, get to work by clicking the tools you want to use and try to manufacture the correct ball. For example, the target ball might be orange with white eyes and black pupils, which means you need to use different spectacles to block the paint and create the different patterns. Need to make a beak? Maybe you have to pull a few times with a pair of pliers.
There is no time limit or punishment for making incorrect moves, so you can try several different configurations to feel your way to success. If you enjoy a cerebral challenge and are keen for a mental workout, you will enjoy Factory Balls!
36 new levels in the latest update! Now 200 original levels!
This is the official Factory Balls game by Bart Bonte/bontegames.

Some mention that it's a really fun game that is deceptively simple at first, while others say that it is challenging and gets progressively harder. Bottom line: While the game is short on content (I finished it in around two hours, two and half hours max), the puzzles are very good. So good, in fact, that I finished it all in one go! At a tenth the price of a movie ticket and much more satisfying, you can't go wrong with factory balls (although the name is admittedly not very catchy). It is well worth the asking price, even at three times the price it'd be a steal.
A lot of the puzzle games on mobile are very weak, where the puzzles are more about willpower than brainpower; this one is different! Instead of just making the puzzles more tedious+time consuming as you go on, this developer gets that puzzles are supposed exercise your mind instead of your patience.
Things start off slow to ease you into the mechanics, but each level increases with complexity (the difficulty curve is fairly gentle though, so don't shy away if you aren't exactly a puzzle maniac like I am!). There is no timer and you can't fail (there is a button to instantly reset your ball on levels that have operations that can't be undone), so it is never frustrating, and the last few levels in both sets are extremely satisfying when you beat them.
The basic gameplay involves taking a blank ball and matching it to the picture given to you. You are given whatever colors necessary, which when used will color the entire ball, along with various tools that can prevent certain parts from being colored (there are also tools that alter shape, as well as seeds that take the place of colors, but the core of the gameplay remains roughly the same). You are never given anything you don't need; this game doesn't rely on cheap tricks or misdirection.
While it may seem straightforward, these puzzles won't disappoint. Especially compared to the other offerings on mobile (flow, lyne, pipes, etc, if they can be considered puzzle games. It is more similar to the quell series or Splice than those games), factory balls is a superb standout of the genre.
This ia a cool idea but this app only lasts 30 minutes at best. I finished all 44 levels, if u can even call them that, in a matter of minutes. What did i just pay for? An overpriced DEMO! With so many free apps available that last days sometimes week, i am upset i wasted $ on this ridiculously short game. Its also extemely simple, my 7 year old would be bored. No Replay Value Whatsoever!! For what you get I suggest you not waste your time, money, or space on this game. Since it has potential, I might increase my rating to 4-5 stars if Bart Bonte increases the difficulty and adds a ton more levels. Until then its a huge disappointment!
I found this game entertaining, for a little while. The game introduces a new puzzle element every level or so, but the rest of the game structure is to reproduce the puzzle elements learned in previous levels. I found this style of play tedious and not very challenging. Given the otherwise apparently broad appeal of this game, I suspect that this play style is simply not for me. The game itself is well-made, has a style all its own, and seems to have been a labor of love.
I'm a spatial thinker and a programmer myself, so the construction and execution of procedures in this game is perhaps too close to work for me to enjoy it as a game.
This game entertained me for one night, which is how long it took me to solve all 40-something levels. There is very little replay value, but I got it as the FAOTD so I can't complain about the cost. The concept is easy to pick up and it's a fun little puzzle game. The only problem I had with the playability was due to colorblindness. The game shows you a ball with paint patterns on it and you must recreate those patterns on a blank ball by clicking on the paints and tools provided in the correct order. However, on my phone, both the example ball and the blank ball are small. Also the balls are shaded in 3d, so the same color looks slightly different if there's just a dot of it on one part of the ball vs another. These tiny dots of color that start to appear as the patterns get more complex were quite difficult for me to accurately identify. I used process of elimination for some of the earlier levels, but when I got to the last few levels I started taking screenshots of my phone and then blowing them up. That helped, so playing on a tablet instead of a phone may help. Regardless, it would be a great addition to the game if there were a few color palettes you could switch between while playing, so colors don't wind up looking so similar.
My daughter told me about this application. Her class would use it in school during some kind of math lesson. Now there is no real math involved in terms of adding and subtracting, but there is a great deal of spacial conception and logic. It will improve your child's ability to think things out and get past obstacles that might at first seem impossible. I even found myself playing it for a few hours before putting it down for a break.
Although I grabbed this application when it was the Free App of the Day, I would easily have paid 99 cents had I known just how much value this app can hold in terms of teaching children, and also entertaining. This game is also enjoyable to adults for the logic puzzle solving lovers. I do not buy many applications, I think I could count all of the apps I paid for with real money on one hand. But this is one application that I think everyone considering this game app, that this is easily worth the money. I would have been pleased with this application if cost double the listed price, I was that impressed.
The game is not complicated, but it is progressive challenging. The game will teach you how to play in the first few levels and from that point on, you'll quickly grasp the concept of how to complete the levels. Basically your goal is to make an identical ball as pictured on the box (of the level you are on). Sounds easy, sure.... but wait until you get through a dozen or so levels, then you'll find yourself using your brain a little bit more than you first expected.
Highly recommended for anyone that enjoys logic, math and spacial puzzles. Worked very well on my Kindle Fire HD 8.9.
