Even 1 star is too much

I understand and accept that there will be some cards that are going to be repeated, but when you find 8-10 in one 'handful' and a few others that go 4-6 of several other cards, I think this is unforgiveable. Since this gift is going to a 9 y/o as part of his first collection, it doesn't set a very good example. What really 'set me off' was opening the US Postal box and finding the cards there....no separate container, just the cards laying there, a couple of them bent at the corners. I took some cards from my own collection and made up the difference, found an old container to put these cards in and he won't know the difference.....but I will and it will be a while before I order anything like this agin.......if at all.

PERFECT KINDLING FOR FIRES!

It's cold here in Indiana. The winters are BRUTAL, so when my wife asked me to go out and get some wood for the fire so our children don't become popscicles, I did it.

About 68 miles into my walk searching for firewood, I got the bright idea to see if Amazon sold it!

No. they don't sell trees, but they DO sell the next best thing; STALE, DAMAGED, and ROTTING GARBAGE of baseball cards that the normal human couldn't GIVE away.

phoney 500 baseball cards

Before Xmas, I ordered a baseball card collector's box of over 500 cards for my grandson from Amazon. Amazon subcontracted the order to a firm known as " The General Store". My grandson recently opened the box (actually 2 boxes) of 500 cards. Here are some examples of what was in the 2 boxes:
--25 Mickey Tettleton cards;
--35 Joe Oliver cards;
--25 Ken Caminetti cards;
--20 Joey Meyer cards;
--15 Pat Kelly cards;
--15 Tim Naehring cards and so on and so forth.

Since I expected 5oo different cards, what I show above is a travesty and, what I consider, false advertising. Please take " The General Store" off your list of subcontractors!!!

Tons of doubles so be careful if you buy this

After opening the box of over 500 cards, I found tons of cards that were exactly the same. I had 1 card that there was 16 of the same card. There were 5 cards from the late 60's & 1 of a early 70's, but the rest of the cards were ALL Blue Jays and over 75 cards were doubles. I get that you'll find a double or 2 in a box this size but when you get 4-5 of the same and have over 75 doubles/triples/etc. out of 500 that's getting ridiculous.

Not The Best But Not The Worst Either.

There was a variety of cards for this pack of 500-550 cards was a great bang for your buck especially since there were a lot of 90's and 80's cards. Now don't get me wrong 90's and 80's are of nothing that the description says they. Normally there were supposed to be cards from the 50's. However for 12 bucks there is really nothing you can complain about. That is except for one thing. The Name says you get a collectors box. At first I though my cards would be safe. But all that really means is that the box is actually cardboard. You have a chance of damaging your cards so be careful. Note: I got Luis Rivera.

Don't waste your money!

This product was a huge disaapointment. It was purchased for my 12 year old son who is an avid card collector. Not only were there no cards from the 50's, 60's or 70's (which were specifically mentioned in the description) but there were many duplicates. Doubles would be no big deal, but in some cases there were up to 21 of the same card! There was not a single card older than 1992. This was a total waste of money and I would not recommend it to anyone other than someone with a 5-10 year old who is looking to bulk up a collection quickly.

There really are 500 cards and there really are a ton of no-names and lots of repeats (5-8 is the most we had). My son doesn't get annoyed easily and he didn't seem to mind. He just said he would trade them in the future. As other reviews said, most cards are from the 80s, not the really old cards he would have loved, but we also got him the "40 Baseball Hall-of-Fame and Superstar Cards Collection Including Cal Ripken, Nolan Ryan, Ken Griffey Jr., Babe Ruth..." and that was a thrill This set of 500 was a thrill because it was so huge and took forever to put in the pages. There was nothing show-stopping about the cards, no real treasures found, but with boys sometimes it really is quantity they care about when they are collecting. The other set fit the bill for the "treasures." Also since most of the cards were from the 80s, my husband was able to tell him a lot about the players since those are the players he used to watch when he was a boy. So that was fine too.
