Little he knew is that I really didn’t have the knowledge as the new baseball coach for his team.
After reviewing numerous material for information that I lacked…I decided to purchase
“Baseball Coaching”, by Marty Schupak. Its easy comprehensive approach at all levels has given me the confidence to coach and manage the team.
The techniques portion that goes over hitting, pitching, base running and bunting is described in a such a way the typical parent of a 10, 11 or 12 year old will be able to understand and explain the details almost flawlessly. One of my favorites is the “Batting Practice” section. He gives great reasons why batting practice should only be batting practice and there should be no “run the last one out.” He is insistent on keeping all the players active and two stations are set up for players before they bat.
Without a doubt the best part of the book is the sample practices of which there are 60. The sample practice section in the e-book version is interactive
in a way that all the drills described (with pictures) are just a click away. This is my 3rd purchase of a Marty Schupak product and all have been very worthwhile. This book is highly recommended!
