About the Author
Aubrey has been reading and writing since she was about two and a half and has been an avid romance reader since she read her first romance novel in the 6th grade. She wrote her first novel in high school. It was an imaginative historical romance that involved a cross-country trip via covered wagon, and maybe some Indians. She thinks it’s still on a floppy disk somewhere (DOS computer, y’all), but can’t be too sure. These days, she writes contemporary romance with a lot of humor and sass and characters that have issues. She graduated from Seton Hill University's Writing Popular Fiction program with a Master of Arts in 2008. When she's not writing, she can be found with her husband and their two dogs at home in Austin, on their ranch in west Texas, watching a football or baseball game, or with her nose stuck in a (usually virtual) book.

If Between the Seams, the first book in the Devils Ranch Series, was a homerun then Baseball and Other Lessons is a grand slam. As I stated in my review of Between the Seams I’m not normally a romance reader but I finished Baseball and Other Lessons in 1 sitting. By the end of the first chapter I was hooked.
The character development was excellent and Baseball and Other Lessons takes the reader on an emotional roller coaster from sadness to happiness from beginning to end while including enough humor to keep you chuckling throughout the story. The author does a great job of putting the reader in the minds of both Matt and Jenn and letting you feel what they feel.
I liked the fact that while it didn’t take over the story there are more baseball scenes in Baseball and Other Lessons than in Between the Seams.
If the third book in the Devils Ranch series is as good as the first two it can’t come out soon enough.
Additionally, the author includes a ton of modern music and includes playlists with each book. Very cool today, but I wonder how it will translate as people read these 10 years from now?
