Happy Traum is one of America's finest teachers. His instruction is in the classic realm of teaching; line upon line; precept upon precept. This is the way all of his instructional DVDs are constructed. He uses principle and then breaks down a song to develop the principle. In this series, he take some simple songs for the beginner and builds upon them until they become decorated with pleasing adornments. As the student progresses, the realization that improvisation is taking place settels in. The beautiful songs are well matched with the excellence of camera work; split screen, slow movement highlighting Happy's natural love and enthusiasm for the music.
Arrangement is taught through classic folk songs and this recipe is a success. It is another in a long string of excellent teachings from Homespun. It is a must for all guitarists and one that will not intimidate the beginner.
