I must say, I was kind of critical as to how this book and course might be. Statistics can be a scary subject to take and with it being online, my fears were likely justified. However, I had nothing to be afraid of. The book is excellent. The format is excellent. Lots of pictures, short lessons, interesting examples. Instruction is step by step, small doses of spoon fed math, exactly like it should be. The book starts off very easy. Students at this level should be able to get through the first five chapters with simplicity, while refreshing foundations for future chapters. Everything is kept simple, and anything else is provided at the online website. Solutions from the website are detailed and clear. I was never truly lost, ever during this class! Something very rare for a math book to achieve!
I am a critical person by nature. I'll give 5 stars when it is deserved, but I hardly ever come across a book that satisfies my needs 100% ... I can usually find something to rant about. Not with this book. This author did a fantastic job. I am actually going to keep this book as a reference instead of selling it back. Excellent and I highly recommend.
I took this class 4 years ago, and got a C-. I'm now taking it in my last year of studies, and I'm currently getting an A+ (about 98%) with 3 weeks of school remaining! It has definitely been a helpful textbook!
