When you're cooking a hearty stew, you need a pot that can hold a lot, one that can be left simmering without a worry. That's exactly what you get with this 7 1/2-quart stew pot by Mario Batali for Dansk also available in three additional colors.

Then, it looked like the enamel was starting to crack. Eventually when I was heating the pan up with some olive oil, a bubble formed and cracked down to the cast iron.
I tried contacting Dansk/Lenox for a replacement or advice on what to do. The only way to do this was to leave a "comment" which limited the number of characters I could write. I received one generic email with instructions on how to care for cast iron enamel - the same that came with the pot. After first contact, I emailed again with a picture and asking for a replacement or something. Haven't heard anything yet, it's been about a week.
Also, because of the chipped enamel, you can tell how thin and bad the quality is. Something like this should last a lifetime. No hope of that.
Mario, please remove your name from this product.
Works much better than a pizza stone --(my stone cracked in two the second time I used it)!
You can also use it as a base for baking free form bread loaves and pretzels.
