Can this mismatched trio come together in time to solve the mystery of the new Oracle and defeat the villainous forces arrayed against them? Or will these Birds of Prey have their wings clipped before they can even get off the ground?
Find out in BATGIRL AND THE BIRDS OF PREY VOL. 1: WHO IS ORACLE? The start of a whole new era for Gotham City’s greatest superhero team! About the author

Born on the same day three years apart, Shawna and her sister Julie grew up in Illinois with access to their father’s Silver Age comic collection and a mutual love of TV & Film, particularly, Doctor Who, Star Trek, Sherlock Holmes, John Wayne westerns, and Katharine Hepburn comedies.
The sisters joined forces, and after their first TV pilot script was optioned by Kevin Costner, they wrote together on Pemberley Digital’s Emmy-winning webseries, EMMA APPROVED. They wrote on three seasons of the CW’s action-packed sci-fi show, THE 100 and penned issues of Batgirl and the Birds of Prey as well as Green Arrow for DC Comics.
Most recently they were writer/producers for Netlflix's WU ASSASSINS and Nickelodeon's Emmy-nominated animated series STAR TREK: PRODIGY.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 4, 2025The story was good enough to make me read everything in one sitting. The art is beautiful, the team has its beloved original trio and the settings fit for a Bat-related title. And I really like Gordon back as Batgirl. Recommended!

- Reviewed in the United States on September 12, 2019I enjoyed every bit of it🥰😍. The art is fantastic and editing was well done. Birds of Prey is a great partnership between heroines.
- Reviewed in the United States on April 23, 2017Batgirl And The Birds Of Prey is becoming my favorite Rebirth title thus far. The relationship between Babs and Dinah feels just like old times. The first issue follows Batgirl and Black Canary trying to track down someone by the code name "Oracle." It has a nostalgic feeling to it. Picking up Huntress along the way, the Birds Of Prey are back. I can't reccomend this enough. The art is a bit quirky at times, but it really works. Give it a chance. Anyone who is a fan of Batgirl, enjoyed Green Arrow Rebirth, followed Helena in New 52's Grayson, or even new readers, should definitely pick up this volume of Batgirl And The Birds Of Prey. You won't regret it.
- Reviewed in the United States on August 7, 2018The story is fine and no complaints here. But as I was enjoying the story, on one page I noticed that someone, in their infinite wisdom, decided to stick a anti-theft sensor sticker on one of the pages. And they also stuck it over some dialogue and after removing the sticker it removed some of the ink and left the pages a little sticky. Why there would even be an anti-theft sensor on this book and who in their right mind would think it would be smart to place it on a regular page and not behind the cover where there isn't anything is beyond me. I've bought a few comics from Amazon and I've never had this happen before. It honestly blows my mind what these people were thinking. Just reaffirms that I should just stick with instocktrades from now on for my comics. Cheaper and better QA.
- Reviewed in the United States on March 18, 2020This was a fun read. I admit I have never read DC before. Sure I have heard of batgirl from watching Batman when I was a kid and the Birds of Prey from this new movie. I have now decided to check out more DC titles
- Reviewed in the United States on January 28, 2021Here's the beginning of the return of Birds of Prey. Nice to have them back!
- Reviewed in the United States on June 20, 2017I am a first time reader for this series, and was still able to keep up with the characters' history, and that can be difficult to do.

Old Grim's ReviewsReviewed in Australia on November 11, 20193.0 out of 5 stars An okay start...
In volume One of Rebirth's Birds of Prey Barbara is hellbent on clearing the name of her former identity Oracle, which has been linked to crimes around town. The premise is decent enough, however there are some issues that weigh down what could of been a good story.
Issue 0 and 1 were decent before issue 2 contrived ways to bring social commentaries into the story that were not needed. The art is messy, Babs, Canary and Huntress are made to look clumsy and unappealing in just about ever panel.
It is a shame, because Batgirl is one of my all-time favorite comic book characters...but this does not feel like the same awesome character I grew up loving... this is by no means a heinous comic... yet; when it comes to a character with such rich history, one that has been written by so many talented writers since the 60s, the bar is set very high and seems out of each for this series...

andrew parishReviewed in the United Kingdom on May 7, 20175.0 out of 5 stars Fun and easy read
First thing's first both the the story and art are great but it's the chemistry of the birds of prey that really shines! It gives a lot of back story to each of them without being a hindrance to the main plot. It's just a joy to read and I'm looking forward to the next volume.
