Why am I only receiving weight readings (ERR2 warning)?

I got this scale over a month ago for my weight control. I compared a few and settled on this one. It has no fancy bluetooth connection, phone app for data recording, or other intelligence function. But it got all the data you ever needed. It can measure weight, BMI, body fat, water, muscle, calories. It can also recognize different person up to 10 profiles. I used a traditional way to record my weight everyday. I put the scale besides a wall, and write down the readings on stick notes on the wall. I only wrote down weight, body fat and muscle, because I only care about these three. One thing you need to know is that the screens are switching a bit fast. But once you get the pace of it, I'm sure you will be comfortable using it.

I have been on a diet for over a month and lost about 7 pounds, it's not a big deal, but I think it's better to make it slow so it won't relapse. Getting a digital scale is actually the most rewarding thing to do before starting a diet, you could actually see the number dropping everyday bit by bit, and it encouraged me to stay with my diet.

Terrible and a waste of money

The scale switches to 9 different "profiles" when you step on it. There seems to be no way to go to only one person to use it. Tapping it changes the scale from kg to lbs but it changes itself back. Then when you try to get a weight it starts rolling through the profile (which I did not set up) with age, height, female, male, athlete etc. Very frustrating when I really just wanted it to give me my weight. If I could return it I would but I threw away the box because it gave me my weight the first and 2nd day I had it. Don't waste your money on this one. The instructions are a waste of time. You can tap on it all day long and not get anything set up or even cleared from it.

Inconsistent readings.

My husband and I have been using this for a few years and we have grown irritated with the inconsistency of the measurements. Step on it and you get your weight and then it will show you your metrics. This is fine if it would read the same thing twice! We weigh in for our diets (I'm building muscle and he's losing weight). I'll weigh in at 175# and 22.2% body fat. We always measure twice to make sure we are correct. 22.6%! Then 22.0%. Then 23.1% We had to weigh him 7 times before we got two that were the same reading. Most of the time we will go until we have two the same or just give up and take an average. We've replaced the batteries so we know that this isn't an issue. Along with resetting the pounds to kilograms or stone with a wrong touch of the toe, it can reset you from male to female with no notice. We finally are giving up and looking at newer models. Hopefully technology has improved and these bugs are a thing of the past in newer models.

Just received this 1byone Body Fat Scale a few days ago. Not too thrilled so far. The display is hard to see and read. Really hard to make out the smaller readings for Body Fat etc. and they blink by so fast there is no way my wife or I can catch them. Have real doubts about how accurate any of the readings other then weight are. All it asks you to input is your gender, height and age. Can't imagine how it could be accurate without other body measurements. We will try to just use it as a weight only scale, but it seems to want to have us input other values for the other readings. if you step on it and your toe happens to hit one of the up or down buttons, it will switch the scale to Kg instead of pounds and then you need to reset it again. Seem like there should be a switch on the side or bottom somewhere to put it into data entry mode, so that the settings can be locked in. We have a medical office scale at home and this one reads about a pound lighter than that scale. Not sure which one is giving us a good reading. Would I buy again? Probably not. But at this price, not out much.
Would like to know if there is a way to calibrate it.

How to solve "Err2" problem.

I love this scale. Like many others I was receiving "Err2" after my weight with no other measurements calculated. I sent a message to the sellers who immediately messaged me back. You must be barefoot when stepping on the scale for all measurements to be taken. Also, and this may sound funny, a little moisture is necessary. It's as simple as wiping the scale (or the bottom of your foot) with a damp cloth or putting a tiny drop of lotion on your feet before stepping onto the scale. My scale works perfectly now and was very easy to program users. I definitely recommend this scale and the price was excellent as well.

Great tool and very informative of how my body is doing. It does take some tinkering around to figure out how it works though.

To get BMI, body fat, muscle, bone mass, etc
1. Tap Set, set up your profile. You need to select a gender, height, and age
2. You need to be barefoot (no socks) when you are about to do the measurement
3. Tap Set to go to your profile, and then weigh yourself. Your weight will come up, and then stay on the scale until your other measurements show up.

Pretty satisfied just wish it stayed on longer so I can memorize the numbers on the weigh screen. I've only seen an error screen once when I stepped on it so it has been pretty dependable. I try to weigh myself weekly and I have had the scale about 2 1/2 months now without any real failures but one when I step on. It does show the dirt like mad. I do try to be very gentle with it because it is digital!

Update*: I received a 3rd unit that is functional, however it’s still slow to process measurements and give you a reading.

I liked the look and functions of this scale so I bought one and had issues with it so I requested a replacement in hopes of a different result but, this didn’t work out. The 1st scale was defective I wouldnt get measurement readings and kept getting error messages when I stood on scale which should only happen if you exceed the weight limit of 400lbs which I am at least 200lbs below so this scale was returned. The 2nd replacement scale was fuctional but was very very slow to work. Also if you don’t stand 100% still or your feet are not bone dry you will get an error message or no reading at all.

Pros: has nice features, looks sleek, easy to set up. Tells you if your obese, overweight, underweight or normal based on bmi, so no need to look up those results.

Cons: display is not very bright, works slow, placement of the set buttons is bad I many times accidentally stepped on the set buttons and had to constantly reset it. Unreliable measurments, they will change by multiple pounds within minutes of taking a reading, and remeasuring yourself. Not consistent as it will work sometimes (about 50% of the time) and other times won’t work at all. Also some numbers on the display are small and can be hard to read.

Overall I would not recommended this scale to others.
