About the Author

James Tynion IV started in the comics business assisting Scott Snyder in writing backup stories for Snyder's groundbreaking Batman series. Tynion soon began writing Talon, a series that spun out of the hugely popular "Batman: The Court of Owls" storyline. He has also written Batman: Detective Comics, Constantine: The Hellblazer and Red Hood and the Outlaws and is currently at the helm of Justice League Dark.

James Tynion IV is a comic book writer, best known for his work on the Batman franchise for DC Comics. James' comics career began with co-writing the back-up stories on Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo's character defining run on BATMAN, which would lead to his making his own name on a number of Bat-Centric series. This work would culminate in James serving as the showrunner of two consecutive weekly comic series, BATMAN ETERNAL and BATMAN & ROBIN ETERNAL. Recently, he has become the writer of the massive cross-over project, BATMAN/TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES, bringing two of the most successful franchises together for the first time. The first issue was one of the best selling comic issues of 2015.

The Young Adult Science Fiction epic THE WOODS broke all records for original series at the company when it was released in 2014, and has recently been optioned for television by Universal Cable Productions. He has also penned the critical successes MEMETIC, COGNETIC and UFOLOGY for the publisher. James has also recently stepped into the shoes of one of the most iconic anti-heroes in the comics medium with the critically acclaimed relaunch of CONSTANTINE: THE HELLBLAZER with Ming Doyle and Riley Rossmo.

An alumni of Sarah Lawrence College, Tynion now lives and works in Los Angeles, CA.

Visually one of the best comics I've ever seen. The story moves faster than a great movie. Artwork and story are strong from beginning to end. I like how the story centers around Donatello. Watch out for his blunders! I read the whole book in one afternoon. Couldn't put it down. This might go in my top 10. 20 for sure. I really enjoyed it and will be getting part III. It's a complete story in itself so it's not necessary to have all volumes. It won't leave you on a cliffhanger. Enjoyed the little snapshot from the cartoon. Check it out!

The first Batman/TMNT teamup had a wonderful cast of characters, phenomenal art but imo was plagued by a story that's fairly cliche. The heroes meet , fight , don't trust one another etc. You've heard it before, with that out of the way this 2nd edition takes its time to diving into the characters especially Donatello this time around for some great arcs! The art & Writing is even sharper as well . Definitely check it out !

I enjoyed it more than the first one. It would seem that this is not canon to the currently running IDW TMNT series. I would explain why, but I don't want to spoil a pretty cool part of the book for anyone. Donnie's psyche was really explored well in this book.

I a huge fan of both Batman and the TMNT so I knew I was either going to love it for doing everything right or hate it fit the errors. I loved it. I think the artwork suits the story and characters brilliantly. The story is also great. There are a few more fights then the fist book I would not have minded a few more.

I also like that they made one of the Turtles less of a warrior then the others. That is not the turtle o would have chosen as the weakest, but with his other skill I can see why he was the choice for the role.

If I had one criticism it is simply Damian was featured more than Batman. However it did work for the story.

All in an excellent continuation of the last story arc, and respected the history of both Batman and TMNT. Love the cover gallery and sketches at the end of the book. Excellent, with a hint of more to come.

I’ll start with cons with this comic...
Bane rambles on a bit.
That is it.

The pros are just in excess. Brilliant writing, wonderful art and great pacing and a really excellent follow up to the first Batman/Turtles story.
It’s a crossover I never imagined or imagined would ever work so well.
But this is a violent story with great humour and I can’t praise it enough.
A lovely escaping read during COVID-19!
I won’t spoil any plot, but if you’re tempted, start at book 1.
Recommend fully for a fun, brilliant read!
Anyway, it’s a basic comic, paperback. You get a lot of sketches and variant covers in the back.
Paper is glossy, but a little thin and these pages tend to stick (It’s happened to me on a load of comics in the past)
Volume 3 is out too!
