The Charging station
The charger has 2 slots to put batteries for charging and 2 slots to put the remotes with the batteries on them. There is an on/off switch on the back. Unplug your Wii AC adaptor and plug the chargers cable adapter in its place and then plug the Wii AC adaptor in the chargers cable adapter that is plugged into the Wii. I did not plug mine into my Wii, I just used a 12volt ac/dc adaptor(Wall Adapter Power Supply - 12VDC 1A) that plugs into the wall instead and that worked just fine.
On the back of the batteries it said and I quote "Note! Before using your battery pack for the first time, you must charge the battery over 12 hours or else the battery life will be reduced!" Other than that, those are the only instructions that came with it. I was able to put the remote on the charger without taking off the wii strap and just rolled up the wii jacket instead of taking it completely off. When I started the 12hr charge, the light was red (indicates batteries are charging), and about 2 hours later it was blue (which is supposed to indicate the batteries are fully charged), but I kept them charging all day anyway.
Putting Batteries On
After the charging was done I put them on the remotes. I have 3 remotes. 2 are official Wii remote plus controllers, the other is a 3rd party remote. The batteries fit with little effort on the 3rd party remote and is easy to remove.Read more ›
I was extremely frustrated when I ran across this little gem of a product. I was cautiously optimistic at first because there were many positive reviews but also a couple that had warned against my entire system being compromised.
Well, I've had it plugged up now for a couple of days and after the initial confusion as to how to plug the dang thing in (thanks to another reviewer for detailing that for me - whew!) I have been in 100% complete love with this thing.
I plugged in my one remote and noticed the color turn blue within a couple of hours but all the same I left it to charge overnight. Everything is working like a charm and I'm VERY relieved to never have to drop another wad of cash on something that really is not that much in demand in my household.
P.S. My son came back from a night at his grandmother's to see this new device plugged in to "his" Wii. He pointed out the glowing blue light and said, "Wow! Cool!" Thus far, every member of my family loves the new remote dual charger.
