1) The leads are fairly short. 6 inches or so. The length is reflected in the product description but it surprises me that some seem to miss that important detail.
2) The snaps themselves are very tight. It takes (I would guess) a little more than average power to snap these on a 9 volt battery. Likewise, they take a bit more force to snap off. This is a good thing because we don't have to worry about moving the batteries around.
3) Other reviewers noted that the plastic is harder than soft editions. While this isn't a bad thing for us, I think that it has led to our specific problem. We left some of the 9 volt batteries (and leads) outside connected to solar equipment and small sensors. It seems that under direct (Texas) sunlight and heat, that these actually begin to fall apart at around the 7 month mark. I have had 3 fail in that time that were directly exposed and one that didn't. I am guessing that the hardness of the plastic makes it more less resistant to extreme conditions.
Will I buy these again? Sure
Will I put them outside? Nope.
