I bought and swiftly received this Thinkpad X61 replacement battery in mid-February 2013 (albeit, from MLC Distribution, "What's in a name?," he quipped.). It fit/fits perfectly. The pre-purchase ad for it had clearly stipulated a, "9-month" lifespan. It's April 2014, it just died; I'm completely satisfied.

The typical runtime: ~ 1:55 ... unless pounding away with Crystal Ball or PowerPivot. What might possess a (putatively) sane individual to run such software on a poor, unsuspecting X61, one might well ask? 'Cause, if I had to give up my X61 or my (ugh!) W530, I'd gladly pay the outbound shipping on the clunky boat anchor and its ghastly keyboard! Those who haven't, yet, suffered Lenovo's latest (keyboard) "improvements"/insults, please excuse the, "spleen." Others, no doubt, are nodding sagely.

BTW: The X61 happily accepts 8GB of DRAM, despite Lenovo's contentions to the contrary. Coupled with a Samsung 840 Pro 256GB SSD and Win7/64 Enterprise, this "dated" notebook remains sufficiently nimble for its age to pass unnoticed by grad-students and executives alike.

Ahem. Back on topic: While I've been completely satisfied with this battery, I'm opting to try, "IBM LENOVO ThinkPad X60 X60s X61 7673 X61s 7669 series 92P1163 92P1164 Laptop Battery - Premium Bavvo® 4-cell Li-ion Battery," now, as I'm curious as to what, if any, difference there should prove. I bought this to replace my dead X61 battery. Worked great the first time. I left the laptop running and forgot to plug it back in, and the laptop ran out of power and died. Rebooted the laptop and the battery had 4% battery wear. Weird, I thought, it never did that before with my other batteries.

Long story short, almost three months later it is now reading 12.3% battery wear. It seems that every time the battery is running low, the battery wear increases with every reboot.

I have an old HP that came with 30% battery wear from the factory. Six years later it still reads 30%, battery wear. The battery life has been the same since I go it.

I don't know if there is something wrong with this laptop (it went through three other batteries, even a replacement one from Lenovo to replace their defective one), but it sure seems to be eating up battery.

The product that I got was definitely a defected one. I fully charged it as instructed but the battery went empty for JUST 15 MINS. Contacted the seller about it but he just blamed my laptop without any ground rather than showed any positive action to solve the problem. Note I only surfed on internet without any energy-eating applications during this 15 mins. The explanation from the seller was an obvious excuse for his detected product.

If you care about your money and time, THINK TWICE before ordering it.

Did not work at all

This product LOOKS perfect. It has all the right labeling and finishes. However it does not work at all. The fit is a bit off, but it does install. But when I turn on the x60s laptop there is a big "X" through my power manager gauge indicating the battery has absolutely no power. Even after attempted charging I get the same result. I believe this is actually a fake battery meant to look real. Do not buy this! There is a reason it is so cheap.

Great for resurrecting an older laptop. Also great for removing the annoying blinking light that indicates that the battery is no longer charging.

I bought this battery well over a year ago, and it's life-span is finally coming to a close. I figure I drain/charge cycle the battery about 5 times a week.

For the price, it has performed as expected.

Since I imagine these are coming from warehouses that churn through their inventory (or perhaps don't!), I can't really put minds at ease as to the repeatability/consistency of the product.

I rolled the dice and it worked out fine.

I've been using this battery in a salvaged laptop with good results.
Perhaps because it was made to fit either the X60 as well as the X60s the fit is a little off, the main thing I noticed is I had to wiggle it a touch to lock it in place and the foot was a bit low so I had to stick a little foam on it.
