CMOS Battery Cluster

Was resetting the clock in the BIOS on my old Dell Latitude C640, every time I booted it up. Found this little cluster CMOS battery at Amazon for a reasonable price and ordered it. Came fast, looked right, removed the keyboard in the laptop and put it in. I was concerned about the shelf age and quality of this replacement battery, but once installed, I no longer need to set the clock every time I turn on my machine. It must be at least fresh enough to work for a while. Problem solved. Excellent service from Amazon, as always.......

UPDATE.........

So after two weeks, this battery cluster died. The Latitude C640 I installed it into, is back to resetting the clock in the BIOS every time I turn it on. As I said above, I was concerned about the shelf age and or quality of this replacement battery cluster. Amazon did their job about getting it to me fast and correctly, but they have no way to know if the product is old or defective. I have returned this HIGH QUALITY GATOR CRUNCH-CMOS Battery for a refund, it was not the best experience I have had with Amazon. I hope and believe that the return experience will be far superior to the depressing results with the battery.............

I purchased two of these for two laptops I have. One worked fine, the other did not. I checked the one that failed for why it would not work (Wire, Connector, Solder Points, Green Shrink Wrap) found nothing wrong. Thinking that it might be my Laptop, I switched the batteries and that fixed it. I think that I just got a bum battery pack. Spend a little more and get a good quality brand.

The battery is old. It will hold a charge for a couple of days but if the laptop isn't used, it loses its charge and I have to go through the BIOS Setup all over again. Would not recommend this product from this vendor.
