Have used this for a couple of years to charge Audi A4 battery. Car is used for small city road trips and 12 V power adapter in car doesn't shut off when engine is off. Thus, radar detector stays on if one doesn't take out the plug and often we forget to do that so it is constantly draining the battery. First of every month connect the battery tender to the battery for 2 nights and all is A-OK. Not shown in the picture is a set of leads that one can connect permanently to the battery terminals. It has a protective plastic cap [kept on the wire with a tiny leash] for the connector that is waiting to connect to the wire from the wall unit. This is what I use.

I normally have to jump start my lawn tractor battery after it sits for a while, especially over winter. So I bought this device to see how well it worked. It kept my battery fully charged so the tractor started every time I tried even after it sat for a few weeks. This winter it kept my battery fully charged so I could start the tractor first thing this spring. I bought another which I have attached to my classic car battery which actually sits in even longer spells than the tractor. I haven't started the car yet this spring but the Battery Tender is glowing green so I'm sure the car battery is fully charged for when I start the car for cruise nights.

I have ordered two of these over the past few months, one for each motorcycle I own. They work great in keeping the battery charged and ready to go. It extends the life of your battery in keeping it properly charged. My new bike recommends a charger since the security system may run the battery down over time. Easy to install and use. The cost was great, I checked two auto parts store and Amazon beat them both. Will order again.

I've never used a Battery Tender before, but figured it was time to give it a go after yet another dead battery in my motorcycle after a long Michigan winter.

It was easy to get the adapter hooked to the battery, and the fact that it's there to literally just plug in is great. I've been leaving it on my battery constantly, as I've read that there's nothing wrong with doing this...and with just about a month of doing it this way I've seen no negatives to doing so.

It's about as easy to use as you could possibly imagine.

I'll be glad to not have to buy another new battery next spring. Highly recommended.

Use this for my Vulcan 900 during the winter when Im not able to ride. It also comes in handy for a lawn mower battery when you want to juice it up before you go outside to cut grass. The cool part is the light. I can walk through my garage and just at a glance tell if my battery is either partially charged or if it has a full charge and its ready to go. I like like myself. Nice long wires for hooking up the charger. I have a larger charger but with this one doing the trickle charge I feel safe leaving it plugged up and hooked up even while Im away from home or while Im asleep. Wouldn't do that with a large charger.

These work really well. We have had one on our 4 wheeler for years. We bought another 4 wheeler and this is the first thing we bought for it. We get winters here and have to put them up for the winter. Before discovering these we had a lot to fix when we got it out in the spring. But we discovered this and have it on the 4 wheelers. When we are using the 4 wheeler we unplug it from the battery and when we put it up for the winter we plug it into the battery and then the outlet. As it is called a battery tender because it tends your battery, gives it a charge when needed and just monitors it when it isn't needed. This is a must have investment if you have to put something up for the winter.

Two stars, for giving up the ghost early and poor customer service from Deltran. I bought this in 2011 for my car when it was in storage. For the three and a half years that it functioned, it worked like a champ. The battery in my car is from 2008 and it's still going strong after being stored for four plus months a year for three years. I feel I owe a large part of that to using the Battery Tender.

Out of the blue last fall it stopped charging. It would give a rapid alternating red and green light (not a valid indication for this model) when it was connected. I tried it on two other batteries and confirmed with my multimeter that no current was flowing. Luckily (so I thought), I was still within the 5 year warranty window.

First, good luck trying to get in touch with this company. Either they don't check the service@batterytender.com address that's on their website, or they just don't care. I waited a week after my first email for a response before I tried again. I would recommend calling them unless you want to waste your time. Second, I discovered the same thing all the other one and two-star reviews are talking about. By the time you pay to ship it to them, and the "Warranty Evaluation" fee, you're a good chunk of the way to a new one.

I'm not so much disappointed that the product only lasted 3.5 years, or that it would cost $15-20 just to get it looked at. I'm disappointed that the company boasts a 5-year warranty and then goes out of their way not to back it up. If it's not economically feasible to make a product that lasts five years for this price, they should only guarantee it for two or three years. Instead it seems their plan is just to make it so much of an ordeal for people to use the warranty, that most people won't. Yet they still get the advertising benefit of claiming a 5-year warranty. Well, mission success, Deltran. I'll be digging into mine myself, for free.

I've since bought a BatteryMINDer, which although more expensive, seems to have much better reviews (and temperature compensation!).

This battery charger was purchased on March 27, 2016 for two moped batteries (i.e. smaller capacity than a motorcycle battery). The unit seemed to work for a couple of weeks and now, LESS THAN 45 DAYS AFTER PURCHASE, the indicator light no longer works. And no, it is not because the unit is not plugged in, nor is it because one of the batteries has less than a 3v charge left. I should have started with the CRITICAL reviews of this product, sorted by date, instead of just reading the first dozen or so. Some of the five star reviewers of this unit haven't even had the charger long enough to know that it will work in the long run. And thank you to the helpful reviewer that lets everyone know that the company wants to charge a customer shipping BOTH ways, and some type of "warranty charge" to replace the charger if it fails under warranty. We've had ours less than 90 days so will be contacting the company to see if they will issue an RMA along with a postage paid label. If they make this good, AND the unit lasts more than a few weeks, I will consider re-rating this product.

I agree with so many of the other reviewers, that Battery Tender used to be a dependable well made product. And using a product photo of the OLD model, which was much more durable and dependable is basically false advertising on the part of the seller. The photo attached to this review is a picture of the unit that is sent, NOT the one pictured in the product listing. The older original product used UL for its testing lab and the current one uses ETL. Deltran apparently does not care enough about their products to take the time to put an updated photo on Amazon!

I bought six of these close together around this time frame. Three of these have failed. One of them taking out the battery it was connected to as well. These may have been good at one time, although they obviously have no manufacturing processes when purchased. Now I have no trust in the remaining three I have, nor will I trust anything this company makes.

I have to admit that I am always skeptical of product reviews. Knowing that I would be out of the country for six weeks, I also knew that my 12v Lexus LS430 car battery would be dead when I came home. Hey, for less than $30 I took a chance. What a product. When I returned home, I just had this feeling the car wouldn't start but it did on the first attempt! A lot of newer cars these days suffer from "vampire" drain of the battery to keep little things always on power. No way around it. Hook this little guy up and your battery will be topped up when you come back to the car! It doesn't look like much but it's a great battery tender and product for the money. Can't recommend enough.
