About this item
- Under normal charging conditions, the BIM will connect for 15 minutes every 35 minutes. That means that the BIM will connect for 15 minutes, disconnect for 20 minutes, and repeat this cycle until the coach battery is charged.
- If the coach battery resting voltage exceeds 13.4V than the BIM will disconnect. A resting voltage greater than 13.4V indicates a fully charged battery. Note that “resting voltage” means that no current is flowing to the coach battery. The BIM will disconnect if the alternator voltage exceeds 14.4V. This protects the coach battery from over charging.
- The BIM will disconnect if the voltage difference between the alternator and the coach battery is less than 0.1V. If the voltage difference is too low, then there is a negligible charging current, and no need to connect to the coach battery.
- The BIM will disconnect if the alternator voltage drops below 13.3V. If the alternator voltage is too low, than it cannot adequately charge the coach battery, so there is no reason to connect.
- Made in the USA.

Works as designed. My lifePro4 batteries have Bluetooth so I can see when the LI-BIm is charging the batteries and how many Amps. I get around 50amps to the batteries from my class C with a SOC of 50%. Charges my two 100 amp hour 50% SOC batteries to 100% in around 1.5 hours.

This product is a must if you have lithium. It's an easy installation, as lon as the old BIM is is a good spot.

I installed this BIM on my Winnebago Vista 27n class A motorhome when I upgraded my batteries to three Battle Born lithium’s. It replaced the factory BIM. The BIM came with no documentation, but I contacted Battle Born which provided a sample wiring diagram. I was able to install it using the existing wires with very little modifications.
This BIM has performed as designed. It allows the lithium batteries to be charged without over taxing the alternator and also correctly charges the wet cell starting battery. In addition it prevents the wet cell starting battery from being overcharged when plugged into shore power, or when running the generator.
The BIM is necessary when upgrading to several lithium batteries on a motorhome. Otherwise you might over work your alternator or under charge your new lithium batteries.

No Problems,Great for converting an older system to Lithium coach batteries.

Expensive, but if you are thinking of installing lithium batteries in your boat or RV, you will need this isolator. The alternator is INCOMPATIBLE with a lithium system, UNLESS you use this isolator.

No documentation with BIM. Battleborn web site shows to connect the sig terminal to either ground or 12v through a "push on and release off" switch. My first one and warranty replacement both locked the batteries together and I feared alternator meltdown. I had to call Precision Circuits to find out that that the BIM will separate the batteries after 15 to 20 seconds. If you hold the switch in longer than 15 - 20 seconds the batteries will disconnect immediately upon release.
Additionally be aware that the recommended wire size is 2/0 to carry 200 amps otherwise there is the danger of smoking your wiring.
Warranty replacement from Battle Born is 5 stars++

I was getting bleed over into my battery bank this item fixed the issue! Now my alternator will be saved and it was a direct bolt on replacement from my factory one ! A must for lithium

As far as no instructions, it is a pretty straight forward install. Other than the two primary battery connections, there is a terminal for ignition, battery boast switch, and ground. A great feature is the connection to the battery boast switch can be either a circuit to a 12 volt source or ground. Works both ways meaning you do not have to alter that regardless of which type you have. My previous battery manager had a connection marked gen-set. It took a communication to the company to find out that wire is no longer needed on the new unit. Just leave it disconnected and tied back.
In summary, once installed it works as described. But this unit is so poorly designed making replacement of an existing device extremely more difficult than it needs to be. Precision Circuits makes a lot of great items for the RV industry. But they really missed it with the design of this product.
As I upgraded to Lithium batteries on my 2017 Winnebago motorhome, I thought it would be good to swap out the existing battery isolation manager with this one (to protect the alternator). From the photo, you can tell there is a lot going on in that area. I was happy to see that my old device was the same brand as this new one. (Precision Circuits Inc) However this one was so different it was like it was made by an entirely different company and made to be as different as possible. As mentioned by others, there are no instructions. But except for one thing, that is no problem. All terminals are labeled clearly. But first the physical issues. Who came up with this screwy shape. Plan on having to come up with new mounting method. Then the two main battery lugs were 3/16 inch closer together than the previous model. Required me to remount everything else off to the side. Then those lugs are too short. Considerably shorter that the old one to the point I couldn't even put the same terminals back on. Then the three low power connections are directly above the battery lugs and there bolts were so long there was no way I could put my battery cables on facing up like on the old one without shorting out. I had to modify those by cutting the bolts off with a Dremel tool.

Look closely if you are replacing another battery isolation device.

I purchased this for my motorhome, after adding four Lithium batteries, and I've now had it for a couple of years, and it's worked just as it states in the ad. No issues whatsoever, and would buy again if the need arises!
