To view this important slice of our past from an 'in person' perspective was informative and engaging. Well done!!

Most history books are very dry and are difficult to capture a young person's mind, especially a young male's. Not so with "The Battle Road"! Mr August lures young, and old, minds with the mystery of time travel and takes us back to colonial days and the history we are learning or relearning captivates us. A must read, including those who write history texts!!

A must read! I don't read often, but when I do find a book like this it makes it hard to stop. Although fiction, I may have learned a great deal about history while going through its pages. The constant excitement of what will happen next made this book a quick and enjoyable read. I would highly recommend this to all ages as it has a wonderful story, excitement, suspense, adventure, and sadness. My gratitude goes out to the Author for creating such a masterpiece and publishing it so that others could enjoy his hard work!

I absolutely loved this great adventure story! Every chapter of this book left me wanting more and found it difficult to put it down. The best part was that I was learning a great deal of history without even knowing it. There are some awesome nail biting action scenes that made me feel like I was right in the middle of the battles. I highly recommend this book for all ages but especially for kids who are learning about this time period in school. It definitely keeps you on your toes and keeps your interest from start to finish.
