Also, you have to put the graphics on yourself (stickers). I'm skipping this, as it's hard to align them in the small spaces, and it will look horrible if I goof up. I'm just going to leave the stickers alone, but this makes the board a little bland. Wish this product was bigger and had holes you could reach. I always loved playing Battleship. This one is a dud, though.
But this is such a little board - small in all directions. It comes with stickers you have to apply yourself, something I always get annoyed with. And the stands, the ships, EVERYTHING is on a small plastic tree like plastic models come in, so it's a bit of a pain to get them out. Be careful, some of the ships are a bit fragile.
Once assembled, it's pretty straight forward from there, so this is going to focus on the actual Star Wars implementation of this game, not the game play itself.
The ships themselves are pretty small, but have a half way decent amount of detail on the surface, even if they area all monochromatic.
The stands work alright, and they pivot the ships forward and back if you need to move it out of the way to put a pin in when someone calls the right coordinates. The center dividing part also snaps flat for storage on the main board, so it's nice that it stays in place that way too. But with the ships on here, you can't always put two ships next to each other, one in one column and the other right next to it if you wanted - they just won't fit. This is my biggest complaint about how they've squeezed it down into a smaller set size. Not to mention for people who like to spread out on a floor and play like my son and I do, this board is NOT a good one for that, since it's so short, you must lay down otherwise it's too easy to see over the divider and know where the enemy ships are.
All told, it's just battleship but with little Star Wars ships. If it was a little larger, I would've held it in higher regard, but it's kind of short and narrow. But it's Star Wars, the pieces look good even if they are pretty small, and the price isn't bad.
