While it took some time to get engaged in this story, once I was settled in I couldn't wait to get to the end and see how it was resolved. Very emotionally satisfying conclusion and I recommend highly if you like deep, heartfelt stories.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for a review. I was not required to post a positive review and all opinions are my own.
Holly has been living with her animals, her beach and her home for 6 years. She prefers it that way. Her schedule is set so that she only goes to town on Tuesday's and once there, she sticks to her schedule and does not speak to anyone. That is the way she likes it.
Cade is back in his hometown hoping to get inspiration for his new book. When he comes across Holly, he wants to know all there is about her. He feels that there is a story waiting to be told. The only way he knows how to go after a story, is to literally go after it. So, he rents the house next to Holly's.
Little by little, Holly starts to let him in. They begin to walk every morning and swim every evening. She starts to give him some information about her background and with that, Cade begins to do some investigation on his own. However, he did not tell her that he is a writer, so therefore, she does not realize that she is the inspiration for his potential new book.
This is a story of learning to let go and, learning to let others in. The relationship between Holly and Cade is not easy, but little by little, they open up to one another and realize that love can conquer all. Especially in the darkest of time.
I wish there were an epilogue, as I would have liked to know what happens with them in the future. But, overall, I really enjoyed the book, as I enjoy all of her books.
I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated for my review, and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinion expressed here is my own.
