My dad tried changing his glucose tester to a different brand that requires this style of test strips. After searching several sources for them we finally found this seller that had a good supply of them at a great price. Also the seller was great at shipping the products on a timely basis and they arrived two days quicker than promised. Great seller to work with.
As far as the testing capability of the strips goes, they worked very well and do not require a large amount of blood to operate properly. And the design of having the strips on wheel that is used by the testing unit seemed to be a great idea as it had the advantage of being able to load 10 new strips at one time. However, in actual practice, it did not work out that well. After using all 10 wheels that came in the box, we found that we were never able to use all ten strips that came on each wheel. At least one test strip per wheel did not load properly and thus would be damaged where it could not be used for testing. On at least three of the wheels there where 2 of the strips that would jam in the testing unit and had to be discarded. In all fairness to the manufacturer, who supposedly manufactured both the testing unit and the testing strip wheels, the problem could have been with testing unit and not the testing strip wheels themselves. However, as we only have the one testing unit we could not run comparative test on another unit. When the strips worked properly they satisfactorily performed their job. But at this point we going back to the other style of tester where we load each strip individually so as to reduce the wastage to one or two strips per hundred.
I read the reviews of this seller before purchasing. I requested that the dates be far off in the future since this is for my son who is going overseas for at least two years. I put in that request when I ordered it and followed up with a phone call that they returned and it was wonderful. I got my two boxes a couple of days later exactly as I asked regarding the expired dates. This seller is in my favorites at the top of my screen I also wrote down their phone number and email in my address book in case I am on the road and my son calls me for more. Thank you so much for having fantastic cusomer service and gicing your customer what was requested.
As both a pharmacist and a diabetic, my recommended diabetes monitoring setup is this meter along with the Accu-Chek FastClix lancet device. I've used a decent amount of glucose monitors during public diabetes screenings, etc., and this is easily my favorite glucose monitor. As an added bonus, the strips are super cheap through Amazon- they're literally cheaper on here than my pharmacy can purchase them for through our wholesaler.
The discs are extremely easy to put in the meter, and normal operation of the machine (changing strips, checking blood sugar) does not require pushing any small buttons (or any buttons at all). To change to the next strip & check your blood sugar, you merely pull tab at the bottom of the meter out and push it back in. This makes it the best meter on the market for patients with any kind of mobility impairment, especially patients with arthritis.
I love the Breeze2 meter. Prior to this I was using a ReliOn meter but a bad batch of strips here at our local Kauai Walmart had me looking for another solution. I happened across the Breeze because of the affordable cost of the strips here (this particular item) so I decided to give it a go. I wish I'd been using this from the get-go!
The ability to insert a disc and not have to change out strips every time you check your sugar is pretty awesome. I have a nice system down now - when I swap out the disc I also change the lancet at the same time. Makes it easy to keep track of how often the lancet is changed. And with the discs, it's easy to tell at a glance how many strips are remaining.
I've found that my readings are right in line with my Dr's office readings and my A1C.
The strips ship quickly, arrive in great condition each shipment, and have expiration dates far off. I recommend this product 100%!
I was recently diagnosed with type II diabetes and plunged headfirst into researching and finding out as much information on it as I could. That research also included the best possible meter. I decided on the Breeze 2 and it was to my suprise to find that most of the meters were actually quite affordable. It was the test strips that would cost a small fortune. When I priced the discs for the Breeze 2 locally I found that 100 strips would cost $110 or more. Luckily I came across this on amazon and what a deal. Half the price and qualifies for prime so I get them quickly. I will only be getting my strips from here from now on.
Now considered an older model meter but these strips are sealed so you never touch them which is great. Alll you have to do is put a new wheel in each time it runs through the ten or 12 strips that it holds.
I am so glad I looked into this product on Amazon! Price is very, very, VERY, reasonable and the shipping speed is amazing fast! I find these to be more practical for my mom to use since all she has to do is get the blood sample and pull the tab on the meter out and push it right back in and out comes the test strip! Rather than having to set up the meter and insert the strip, bayer breeze makes the process a little quicker! Will continue to purchase my mom's test strips on Amazon as long as they carry them! Update: I have been buying these test strips for my mom for at least a year now (maybe more) and I am happy with the purchase every time!! I am happy to pay for these on Amazon, since the cost is so much more reasonable than the major retailers here where I live! Will continue to buy her these test strips as long as they are carried!!!
