I bought this for the bluetooth connection to my phone but in order to use it you have to create a cloud account and connect all out your information to the cloud. You cannot even sync via bluetooth without turning on location services. What in the world does my location have to do with my glucose levels? You must have a verified email address to create an account so that they can market to you. I feel duped and my privacy violated.

Reading consistently way too high

I compared this meter to three older ones I had and also to the lab result from my doctor. I did this three tomes, three months apart. The Contour meter is at a minumum 20 points too high, where the other meters are within 5 points of the lab results. For low readings, one time the Contour read 70 and the two orher meters I used to confirm it read 38 and 40. If I had treated for the Contour reading, I could have gone comotose and my wife would finally gotten to use that Glucagon emergency kit I keep at the house. If she got to me soon enough.

Update 4/8/19: decided to try again with the Contour meter, due to the fact that the strips for my other meter were almost expired and Medicare would pay for any more. Again, each reading was about 20 points high. I could feel I was in a hypoglycemic state but the contour said I was at 85. Hospital reading was 55.

By far my favorite. Love how easy it is to test. Very little blood needed. Easy to add, waits for me rather than canceling out the test like their previous version. Cheap strips also available in this website. The Bluetooth is priceless. Syncs with my meter in the office and the one in my purse and the one on my sink.

The predictabive function of what kind of test it is — pre or post meal or fasting. I just press a button since it already knows cause I set up the app to know when I usually eat. I only wish I could choose number if hours for after eating.

A big group Reversing Diabetes on fb has had great experience with the brand and especially with this latest model.

After researching glucometer accuracy, I landed on the Contour Next One as the most accurate available. It came in quickly and performs as advertised. The sync to the Contour app on my Android smartphone is flawless. I really wanted the ability to log the results and this feature alone is worth the upgrade.
Update 5 weeks later: still working great. No issue with the sync to my phone (Samsung S7). If the app on the phone is running (on screen or in the background), the reading shows up immediately. If the app is not, whenever I do open the app on the phone and the meter is on, all the "new" (really stored and not yet synced) readings come in. It couldn't be easier. The ability to see the averages and trending are very handy.

Excellent meter, excellent app, rock solid Bluetooth connection and syncing to your iPhone. Works way better than the iHealth meter and app I was using before. Note: the test strips are very expensive if you buy them at a pharmacy. My local CVS wanted $140 for 100 strips. But, you can buy them here on Amazon for around $25 for 100 strips--and they are fresh with expiration dates in 2019.

Love this meter. Tested it against 3 other meters I have and it matches within 5 two of them. Very accurate as far as I can tell.
Love the fact that if I do not get enough blood it waits for me to add more, where most other meters will fail and waste a strip.
I have it paired with the app on my phone and I really like the fact that I no longer have to record my numbers manually.
I would recommend this meter to anyone/everyone.

I have used many diabetes meters over the years. This one gives results similar to two others I happened to have in the house. It seems that almost every time I get another insurance carrier, they cover a different meter. But the Contour Next One is easy to use and set up.

The companion software works very well and is no extra charge (both iPhone or Android) and syncs via Bluetooth. It lets you set up the meter initially, and keeps track of your results and averages. Ii keeps your glucose readings, as well as optionally logs your meals, medications (pills or insulin), exercise, freeform notes (any text) and you can attach photos as well. It can share your results with your healthcare team and shows you graphs of your results. It even lets you log your HbA1c history. The software also lets you manually enter results from another meter.

At no fault of the seller, this unit is very off! The shipping was fast and great and was a terrific value, but I wouldn’t use this device to depend on giving me life saving information. I’m newer to diabetes and am looking for something reliable. I’m in my early 30’s, so having a device that’s Bluetooth enabled and can record my levels on an app is terrific, however the readings are WAY off! I have tested my One Touch Ultra 2 with my doctors office and it’s the most accurate one I’ve found. I hate that I’m having to carry around both meters just so I can get an accurate reading. This will most likely never get used again, which sucks because I just ordered 100 strips for it which isn’t cheap!

Just found out at the calibration test in the hospital it is out just about a full point high, giving false high readings. I have no faith in this product anymore, this just gave me the same thing I was trying to fix.
