+ Adjustable; easy to adjust the depth the lancet punctures by twisting the cap
+ Easy to Use; once the lancet is inserted (see "Cons", below), the spring unit charged by pulling down the bottom cap and activated by pressing the large button
- Loading Lancet; the top must be removed, remove the old lancet (I have poked myself doing this), insert the new lancet (this is when I take off the lancet's protective cap), and put the top back on (be sure to check that the depth setting has changed)
The loading of the lancets is not really as difficult as it sounds, and goes quickly once you get some practice with it. Mine has held up for several years of daily use.
The device itself is poorly designed. On must remove the gray adjustable end-cap to insert the lancet, the cap of which must be removed in order to re-attach the gray end cap causing the possibility of touching the lancet (an inadvertent 'needle-stick') with either resultant contamination and/or dulling before use. After use, the gray end cap must be removed in order to eject the used lancet. Removing the cap provides another needle-stick risk.
This Lancing Device,(sold alone) Comes with NO Information at all!
It took 2 college grads 10 minutes to figure out how to open it!
A little diagram would have been nice! For the price they charge for a piece of plastic a little instructions would have been nice!
Not sure how to adjust the needle! Or if you can!
Not everyone is able to get on YOUTUBE! Bayer get your act together!
I buy 4-5 at a time here on Amazon, at $4-$5 ea. I test around 7 times a day, and one lasts me probably 3-5 months (hence, why it doesn't get all 5 stars). But for the price, and how easy it is to obtain, really can't complain.
I discovered this one when my supplier quit sending One Touch products. They sent me a free Bayer Contour Next meter since that was the test strip/lancet they sent. But when my supplier switched back to sending One Touch products, found the One Touch lancets fit this as well. So I continued to use it rather than the lancing devices One Touch offers, which don't eject the used lancet. This device won't fit in the lancing device holder (stretchy) part of the One Touch case, so I just carry it in the pocket where I put the lancets and alcohol swabs.

Exactly like the one that came with my Contour next EZ, which had stopped working. Glad I read that it did not include the alternate testing site end, though, since that is what I... Read morePublished 4 days ago by Sue
I bought two of these <7 months ago and now both of them have failed. When loading a lancet, the lancet does not "catch" and the blue button is already depressed. Read morePublished 11 days ago by Jasperdog
Mine felt stiff to pull back and it broke after 1 fall only from my lap. Maybe I just got a defective one.Published 15 days ago by Ana
My original Microlet lancet device finally broke after 25 years of use; the plastic sleeve that holds the lancet cracked, an eventuality probably to be expected given its age. Read morePublished 16 days ago by The Old Galoot
