As I read the new testament books of the bible and study carefully what it says and how to apply it to my life I usually turn to Warren Wiersbe for a great commentary and devotional. 1 Peter can be a bit overwhelming with all the references to submission and to suffering and rejoicing. Weirsbe's comments added clarity and devotional insight to a topic that is hard to grasp without time and repetition on the truth therein. If you are going to be using 1 Peter in group study I would highly recommend this BE HOPEFUL as a valuable resource for all. God Bless You as you study and apply! 4 stars not 5 because i would have liked MORE of it!!!

I found the outline helpful. However the content seemed to mostly bring you out of the context of the letter and in to a theological principle. At times I felt as though the theological principles were driving the chapters rather than the content of the letter of 1 Peter. Not that I disagreed with the principle, it just seemed a bit disconnected. It may be what others are looking for, but not what I was looking for.

Warren Wiersbe's "Be" series are great, easy to understand Bible commentaries well suited to individual Bible study. I've used his study of Hebrews, I Peter, and am now studying 2 Peter (which also includes the study of the book of Jude and 2 and 3 John.). These are insightful commentaries that teach, make you think, and encourage introspection on applying what you learn to your everyday life. The Kindle versions are great and keep me from getting crammed bookshelves. ☺

In BE HOPEFUL, Warren Wiersbe takes readers step by step through 1 Peter and comments on the suggestions and insights the apostle gives for living the life God expects. I found it a bit repetitive but not enough to be annoying. There were a few grammatical errors, like punctuation and misuses such as “the delay gave my wife and I.” Overall, however, I liked the book. It covers important ideas for the Christian.

I've read 5 chapters into this commentary and love it so far. 1 Peter is one of my favorite books of the Bible. 1 Peter is a short read, but I love how Warren Wiersbe explains deeper insights and brings a personal and modern perspective.

Simply stated Life Lessons from Peter's first letter. This is not a self help psychological massage. It's rubber meets the road Christianity. Like Peter the author says a lot in a few words. With summary questions for each chapter this is an excellent resource for personal devotions or home study groups.

As usual, Dr. Wiersbe has put together a challenging, yet easily read commentary/study, this one on 1st Peter. Very simple, but thought-provoking questions. Highly recommend for private study or group study.

I just started but I love love love it. His writing style is easy to understand, and flows smoothly. He goes over the background and makes it come alive to the reader. We just started 1 peter at church so I'm super excited to dig in further. This is a great resource for that!
