Review

"A courageous book in opposition to the rampant persecution of Christians in our time. Very few authors can write with this author's knowledge and deep understanding of the Christian faith and its many enemies. Carl Gallups has written another gem."  - Jeff Kuhner, host of The Kuhner Report, WRKO AM 680 Boston, Massachusetts.

"BE THOU PREPARED is of paramount importance and could save not only your life, but the lives of your families and also many others. . . Get a copy in the hands of friends, family, neighbors, and other church groups, and build strong relationships as you network together, preparing for the future."
- Charl van Wyk, pastor, missionary, and bestselling author of Shooting Back: The Right and Duty of Self Defense

"Be Thou Prepared" challenges us to be ready for tough times ahead, including the persecution of Christians, possible violence against Christians and the impact of natural disasters. Carl Gallups reminds us that just like the early Christians, we must be prepared to uphold our faith in troubled times. This is a must-read for all who see disturbing trends in America and want to be ready to defend sacred Biblical principles in a permissive and secular era." - Dr. Grace Vuoto, Editor of Politics and Culture at WorldTribune.com and host of American Heartland with Dr. Grace on WTSB AM 1080

I. Love. This. Book. Author Carl Gallups uses brilliantly simple language to tell the believing Christian just how to prepare for the final days. Read the Bible first. Read the Constitution second. And read Be Thou Prepared next. It's powerful, practical, political and biblical all rolled into one, and it'll tell you step-by-step how to put on the full armor of God, circa twenty-first century. - Cheryl Chumley, journalist, columnist and author of Police State USA: How Orwell's Nightmare Is Becoming Our Reality

Hallelujah! The first Christian manifesto for being prepared physically and spiritually for tribulation ahead.
--Pastor Mark Biltz, founder of El Shaddai Ministries and author of Blood Moons

In this insightful book, Carl Gallups reminds us that just like the early Christians, we must be prepared to uphold our faith in troubled times. This is a must-read for all who see disturbing trends in America, especially for Christians, and want to be ready to defend sacred Biblical principles in a permissive and secular era.

Across the earth, there is a growing sense that we are now rapidly approaching the last days. Now is the time to get ready. Pastor Carl Gallups’ latest work draws upon his past as a police officer with his present calling as a pastor to give us a solid and well thought out action plan to prepare for what lies ahead.

(Joel Richardson, New York Times best-selling author, preacher, and filmmaker)

Carl Gallups' new book, Be Thou Prepared is a message for our time. As a Watchman on the wall, Carl courageously addresses "we the church" to get ready. All God-fearing people must read this book for two reasons: to be prepared for the inevitable and to be encouraged and to stand confidently on God's promise of redemption.

(Bill Martinez, nationally syndicated talk radio host of Bill Martinez Live!)

The problem with most secular “prepper” books is the fear and anxiety with which they are normally associated. In Be Thou Prepared Carl Gallups brings a refreshing level of peace and calm to the discussion which is much needed in a time when Christianity is under open assault and the call for God’s people to “get ready” has never been so urgent.

(Michael D. Shoesmith, author, syndicated witer, executive editor of PNN News and Ministry Network)

Carl Gallups has been given the ability to answer the questions that are silently in all our hearts these days and do so following God’s Word. . . . Be Thou Prepared is the most important of all and coming at this time in our history, truly epic! This is a book that every ministry, every church, every Pastor or leader, every community leader, and every adult Sunday school should discover.

(Jim Bakker, host of the Jim Bakker Show)

From the Author

CARL GALLUPS SAYS, This book comes from my forty years of combined law enforcement and ministerial life, living and working through numerous emergency and disaster situations of people's everyday lives. I have learned a lot during these years and wanted to share the benefit of the knowledge and practical wisdom that the Lord has given to me. This book, I pray, is a treasure trove of biblical perspective and a plethora of logistical information on how an individual Christian or church family can prepare for the potentially tough times ahead without feeling like they have stepped over the lines of common sense and a biblical faith-walk with the Lord. The main reason we are to be prepared is so that we can minister the love of Jesus to the world around us - even in desperate times; and the pages of the New Testament, beginning in Acts, demonstrate that this was the lesson that even the earliest church had to learn.

If I had to sum up this book in just a few words I would have to say it is about stewardship - stewardship as individuals, families and church communities. So often the discussion of “preparedness” gets framed in terms of wild eye survivalists preparing for the end of the world. In this well written book the author Carl Gallups elevates the discussion and gives practical and commons sense advice on how Christians can fulfill their responsibilities to each other and their fellow man within a Biblical context of love.

In this book you’ll find a wealth of practical information on preparedness with an underlying foundation based upon solid Biblical principles. I especially appreciate how Mr. Gallups reminded his readers throughout the book that real stewardship and preparedness begins in the heart and it is that focus which keeps physical preparedness in the proper balance.

In the end, at least from my perspective, it’s about fulfilling the Royal Law to love our neighbor as ourselves. It is that principle reflected, in our actions towards each other, which should really drive our daily lives as believers. BE Thou Prepared is a practical primer on how to accomplish that in the day in which we live.

AWESOME BOOK. I usually get bored and sleepy reading books like this. I am about half way through and I can't put it down.
It really has me doing a lot of thinking and giving me an entirely new perspective and out look. I feel as if the Holy Spirit is speaking to me. I am reading and learning from the book but at the same time realizing things that are not in the book.
The book doesn't say this but one of the things I have realized is that from reading my Bible and KNOWING that hard times are coming and by preparing ahead for them I am showing my faith in God and his word. Instead of just thinking/saying, Oh well, God will handle it. I will just pray when it all hits the fan. By believing in the prophesies written about in the Bible and seeing the signs right before my eyes every day, and preparing I am showing that I do have faith. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE BOOK. If you decide to prep, check out the site: survivalblog.com and read the following books: 1. Patriots and 2. Survivals both books are by James Wesley Rawles and another book: One Second After. Both are awesome books and real page turners.

The church I attend is currently going through some issues and we have hired security to watch over the situation. We also have people who conceal and carry. This has been controversial to some of the attendees, but in this day and age, I definitely understand why security is necessary. Every church should have a good gameplan for if an incident happens. As head usher, we are working with Security to understand each person's role during an incident. The statistics of terrorism of churches and church shootings were very eye-opening. As a Prepper, the information on how long to keep food and putting food in PET bottles was very informative. I have referred this book to our Security personnel at church.

I was expecting something else from this book. It is good, don't get me wrong, it is good, but it is addressed to a certain audience, I thought. More for a pastor, or for churches, than for individuals. It is good, necessary information.. just not what I was expecting in the book. I would like to have had more personal, individual information.. how do I, as just a person, mom, sister, wife, friend.. prepare for the dark days that are coming..

A concise guide for Christian groups and pastoral leadership who follow the Bible and believe disaster/crisis preparedness are part of our calling.
Mr. Gallup, a pastor and former law enforcement member, gives the Who, what, and Why everyone but especially Christians must prepare for worsening times.
Detailed chapters explain all areas to equip unified believers in preparing for crisis and caring for parishioners and or their community.
Realising our welfare CANNOT be left to an impersonal government, the care of our loved ones must be OUR responsibility. Not only is it prudent but it is a biblical mandate.
Having 25 years experience is the disaster response field, I got this book via Kindle and began reading with a critical eye. I was so impressed with Mr. Gallups' work, I ordered two paperback copies for other congregation leadership.

Love this book. Easy read and you understand the message being preached. This book gives you a reality check on the Christian faith and what comes with it. Its not just health, wealth and prosperity as many preachers are teaching in times of disasters or persecution...but we learn how to deliver the gospel of Jesus Christ which is most important through any situation.

A call to action, Biblically based, historically factual, with practical information that any Bible believing Christian church can use.
The author presents our society's current dilemmas with historical perspectives going back to the very recent past and the very distant past. With this in mind, we are reminded of great words from the Bible and throughout history. He then presents some very practical examples to solve some of the issues.
The author writes from his personal perspectives as a police officer, church pastor and father.
If you get stuck in a chapter, skip to the next rather than give up. His treatment is a bit uneven.
