The main character swears constantly and is drunk and on drugs (high) when he makes his first, unexpected "jump" to a parallel universe. His double meets a neighbor and freaks her out - then the neighbor mistakes "our" man for the double she had the chat with and they talk about parallel universes. This "guru" neighbor believes the problem is that both couples in both universes are expecting a baby. The other couple is married, the one we follow are not. They decide "for the good of the continuum" (to stop the jumping) that they will kill their unborn baby. Using the stopping of parallel universe jumps to justify abortion was just too much for me. I deleted it off the minute she went through with it. NOT a good read if you object to swearing, drugs, drunkenness or abortion. So much for "sci-fi" - I do NOT recommend this immoral title.

What can I say - I was hooked from the outset. Believable characters caught up in bizarre circumstances that just kept me "turning" the page. I was captivated and needed to see how the increasingly fraught relationship between Kenzie and Ali would be resolved.

The story is set in and around Ventura, a sleepy beach-town in Southern California, and captures the feel of the place beautifully. The plot interweaves the real locations/fantastic premise with a deft touch and never feels stilted or forced.

Already personally recommended to several others. Do yourself a favor and pick this gem up.
