Strong paper lift the flap book. A classic in our family where I often have to read it two or three times in one day to the little ones.

My daughter LOVES this book. We found it at our local library and checked it out so many times I finally decided to get one for her to have as her own. Her favorite thing about it is the numerous flaps. It is a fun book because it is educational but also funny as several of the animals in the book have humorous dialogue. Not only does she like to read it, but she also plays with her toys in it like they are going to the beach. Wonderful, quality book.

Got this for a beach vacation, nothing great but reasonably attractive, much smaller and thinner than their other flap books.

I also bought this for a beach vacation for our one-year old. The illustrations are gorgeous and my daughter loves turning over multiple flaps in the pretty illustrations. Each double-spread layout tells a different aspect about life forms at the beach - underwater corals, fish, shells, crabs. It's a preschool beach book worth its price. (Although she did tear off the poor crab's pincers in her first go-through!)

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Seaside Book for Young Children Ever..
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on September 10, 2013
This book is a must have in any book collection for young children. It has been well loved in our family and a regular read for many years on our shelf.

It is quite a sturdy book with thick pages and large flaps to open, and in some cases several flaps hidden among other flaps. Children are totally engaged in the large, bright illustrations and the concise sentences offering fabulous information about many aspects of the sea, and the seashore, from rock pools to Rocky cliffs, you will be amazed and delighted with the interesting facts and things to see on each page. So many things to talk about and explore, it seems endless.

It is written in such an informative and enchanting way that it sparks thoughts of exploration and investigation on your next journey to the beach, things you might see, touch, or hear, it's simply the best Seaside book ever for young children.

What has also impressed me is how durable the hardcover is, although it has been taken in and out of the house and read over and over again, it seems to appear brand new still, the flaps have held up extremely well along with the pages, so all in all an excellent investment, my youngest has now started reading it to me and is engaging with the book on whole new level, so just brilliant and highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun and educational

Beautifully illustrated book, and not too wordy. Perfect for introducing young children to life along the coast before taking them out to explore. Each page focuses on a different theme of the beach - sandy shore, rock pools, cliffs, boats, etc and looks at the animals and shells that can be found. The children love looking under the flaps to see what's hiding below. Would definitely recommend.
