DEFECTIVE NON-RETURNABLE
Package received in good condition. Installed new AA battery. Item would not heat. Installed another new AA battery with no success. Attempted to have unit returned/replaced. Learned the Beadsmith Thread Zap II is a NON-RETURNABLE ITEM! Directed by Amazon to contact vendor. Contacted vendor and left detailed message outlining the defective product and requested replacement. No response from the vendor in 3 weeks. Cannot recommend anyone buying this or ANY product Amazon or their represented vendors will not stand behind.UPDATE:Reported this vendor to Amazon. Vendor “responds” with a link back to Amazon’s Customer Service page and back into the dead end of trying to get a refund for a NON-RETURNABLE item. There is no option for replacement or refund. Amazon, I bought this from YOU! YOU should refund my purchase.02/11/2022 UPDATEWith no response from the vendor, and figuring I’ve nothing more to loose, I decided to see if I could analyze the problem with this thread zapper. After closely inspecting the battery cap, I noticed that the cap, though tight, was not screwing all the way down causing the small metal contact ring from making full contact with the metal barrel of the zapper. Using some small pliers I was able to get the battery cap to screw down tightly and completing the circuit with the metal barrel. NOW, the zapper works! I’ve been using it for the past week and find it, as expected, useful. I’ve updated my rating to a 3, acceptable, but with the caveat that the buyer should not have to force plastic parts with pliers to make them work.
