I normally loathe love triangles and thought that McKenzie came up with a unique way of resolving it. It was rather bitter sweet to be honest, but it totally works out.
I will admit that I cheated with this book … when I first started reading it I had to skip to the end to see that that skinny-butt chick had been taken care of nicely. Despite knowing the outcome beforehand in regards to that I still enjoyed every twist and turn that came about on the way to that resolution.
I still feel bad about how she portrayed the lone human, poor Stan.
I so can’t wait for her new series. The entry of hers that I read in the Moon, Mist, & Magic: anthology was awesome and I look forward to seeing more about what she started there with Lara Stone.
I will try not to drop spoilers, but be warned that reading further may give hints about what happens!
So I had a hard time pinpointing all the bits that felt off on this last book in the series & why I feel let down. The biggest & most obvious is the opening zinger which completely ticked me off! But bad things happen, sooo...but then the author takes it from a tragedy to ruining one of my favorite characters in the story with that sorry arse letter which pretty much trashed him. It was not believable to me. Then there was the whole aging Were deal. I was unclear about whether he thought old age was coming for him or that because of his age he was pretty much bored until Andy?! I mean from everything told he was healthy & strong so WTH?The letter did not seem in character to the person in the previous books, it was like the author jumped tracks, changed her mind about the direction she had taken & this was easiest way to clear the path to get back to Wick....don't even get me started on how that whole relationship annoyed me! From beginning til end the story resolution felt rushed...her imprisonment, her grieving, how everyone came together & how all the big Bads were actually kind of sad. Everything worked out, love was had & it was all roses.😶 This was a huge let down as an ending to this series which really makes me sad. 3stars because the 1st three books rocked!😎This one not so much.
...I did love her brother tho😃
