Composer Dan Romer should get ready to become a lot busier because this soundtrack is outstanding. Much like the film it scores, the soundtrack is uplifting yet tinged with sadness, vast yet intimate, familiar yet fresh. Those combinations seem contradictory because they are yet they all live beautifully together in the film and in Romer's score. Do your soul a solid and see the film and get the soundtrack.

I love this soundtrack for two reasons. One, because I think it perfectly captures the feel of the film, from bayou blues to whimsical, epic instrumentals. Two, because even if I had not seen (and fallen in love with) this film, this music would stir my soul.

It's been on repeat in my room for weeks. I love soundtracks, and this is an excellent example of one. The songs touch on so many emotions and make me feel like I'm on a permanent adventure, even if it's one in the morning and I'm just sitting in my room working on a paper. It's stunning, with quiet lulls and brash, epic finales.

The last four songs in particular are incredible. They blend together perfectly and must be listened to in succession. Sometimes when I reach that part of the album I just sit back and try to envision the film playing in my head. This music is simply transcendental and I suspect it will remain in my library forever.

On an unrelated note, you've got to see this film. It's stunning beyond belief. I went into the theater tired and feeling a little lifeless. When the credits rolled two hours later, my jaw was hanging open in disbelief at the wonder I had just experienced and tears were running down my face and all I wanted to do was run into the streets screaming about how beautiful this life is.

How is THAT possible!!?? This music is haunting and addictive. I lived in New Orleans for 10 years and this music brought back so many memories. It is unique and one of a kind and stands totally on its own, even if you have not seen the movie (yet). Playing it on my Bose Wave CD player is an added pleasure. And the price for the MP3 by Amazon is simply fantastic. This score is fast becoming an all time favorite of mine and is highly recommended for anyone who enjoys the unusual.

To say that I was thoroughly delighted with this soundtrack would be the a gross understatement.
They way the composers interlaced beautiful rhythmic sounds with classic Cajun compositions (like in 'The Bathtub') was breathtaking.
Hats off to everyone involved in this soundtrack and in the film.
Simply, wonderful.

I don't know much about musical scores, but I really like this music. I like to listen to instrumental while I work and this is less intense than Inception, Hannah or Social Network (my other go-to music while working).

If you haven't seen Beasts of the Southern Wild, go watch it somehow. The soundtrack is one of the many excellent things about the movie and hearing it again filled me up with the feelings I had while watching the first time. I can't say whether or not the soundtrack stands on its own because my first experience with it was while watching; however, when I play it out loud I have friends saying they enjoy it and asking where it came from. Anyway, I give full credit to the soundtrack, and to the movie if anyone cares. 5 stars. Bam!

I just saw the movie which was beautifully made. The music added to the beauty of the film. I came home to listen to the soundtrack which a lot of the times gets "lost" with music alone. It may go with the movie but to listen to the album as a hole something goes missing- NOT THIS. I was so pleasantly surprised that this soundtrack is able to stand alone in it's wondrous sound. This can be loved without seeing the film- although I highly suggest it.

This is what a good score should sound like. I don't know why this soundtrack didn't get an Oscar nomination, but it sure deserved one. We've had it pretty much on repeat here in my house since we bought it.

Great music.
