This was a book that I couldn't put down. The more I read, the more I realized what the general public doesn't know about Obama Care. This is a very enlightening book, that I would suggest for everybody that is a US citizen and is subject to the so-called health care that this is written about. Just little things, like "hospitals get perks for discharging a Medicare patient early". This means that a lot of our senior citizens, the ones that need health care the most, are being given the boot. This can cause a patient that is not medically ready to leave the hospital, to potentially become worse and have the chance of even death. My best suggestion is read the book and form your own opinions. Elections are coming up. Be informed. Let's get back to a system that had been originally designed - Medicare for the elderly and disabled.

Title very decieving - - there is no way to beat it and it will be in a state of flux for a long time to come

After much publicity about Obamacare. My conclusion is " who cares Obama Cares" . If your thinking of purchasing this book DON'T
The information in it is all a matter of fact and little to no help as to how to avoid it's pitfalls. The book does recognize the fact that some of the law is unconstitutional in parts so lawyers will be having fun with it for years to come. So what ever help the book may offer your particular situation you can bet that it will change as people will be complaining and the supreme court gets involved again.
This book was written in simple language so that a 3rd grader could understand. I think this book may be worth it if sold for $1 ...

The book does actually contain some useful information. For instance, it talks of some of the new taxes that a lot of people probably do not know about, a bit of information about Medicaid, defines "qualifying" plan, talks of the penalty amounts, covers employer mandates quite a bit, how it affects doctors, hospitals and privacy, a lot on how it affects Medicare, why insurance premiums would likely rise, etc. I think the language is fairly easy to understand and that she is able to get down to "our level." (i.e. us non-attorneys) Despite that I feel I knew more going in than an average person, I still found some tidbits I didn't know, or just more detail. The 2 is because I have no issues with what information it does give me and it therefore has some redeeming value.
However... I think the title and description are very misleading, and I find some other faults with the book.
She does get very political and it is very obvious which side she is on. I think the vast majority is factual and a good assessment of the laws, so this is not to say I think her interpretation is incorrect. Rather, it's too obvious what her *opinion* is and there are bashing comments towards politicians. Not only do I find that to be unnecesssary, but I furthermore think will simply turn off pro-Obama people so that they will never listen to what she is saying. (It's not like this is a Rush Limbaugh book. Then I would expect that :-) ) Judging by some of the bad reviews, I think I'm right-on about that. The interpretation and assessment of the laws and their effects, without the politics, would be more appropriate.
I also think some of the information is a bit disorganized. I sometimes felt that I was reading the same thing over and over. While each topic had a chapter that presented the main ideas of that topic, there were "teasers" in other parts of the book related to it, but then the main information would be somewhere else. However, that's a minor issue.
The biggest problem with the book, and main reason I could never give it a 4 or 5 (despite having some information I can use), is because it's so misrepresented. There is information that can help you understand so that you can be "prepared" for it. But I found no information that told me how to "beat" or "survive" Obamacare. There was not one word in this book about how to deal with it. The back cover of the book says "Obamacare is here to stay. How will it affect you?" That's probably a more apt subtitle.
If you just want the information and aren't going to get turned off by her politcal opinions, by all means, get it. (Keep in mind, it's just a handbook, not an encyclopedia.) If you think she's going to help you navigate the website or help you get out of the mandate or help you pick out the best "Olympic medal" level of insurance, look for something else, or perhaps the updated 2014 version would work - sorry, I haven't read that one.

There was a lot of good information in the book; a lot of it I knew but learned a lot, too, with specific examples from this horrible bill the politicians have foisted upon us (and they won't even be forced into it!). Thought, based on the title, that it would give tips on how to "beat" it by getting around the taxes and getting around the lack of care that will happen eventually; it's a good synopsis but does not give any information about how to either not have to get into it or how to make it work so one gets coverage for major health issues which will be denied.

This book has little real information that is not already generally known. It provides absolutely no specific help on any issue to anyone.
It is just a rant against Obama Care without providing much information at all and no specific instruction that would even cover the cost of this trash publication. Absolute waste of money and time.

I was a bit disappointed by the information contained in the book or rather the information that was not contained in the book. I am an accountant and I am trying to get as much information for my clients I can possibly gather. While there was some good information i did not know I feel like I have more questions now then before. I would recommend this to a lay person who just wants some basic information.

There is a "red flag" when the President and followers in DC do not have to have this insurance.

The author made it so easy to understand how scary this Obamacare can be--especially for Senior citizens. Now, just as in car insurance, we will be paying for those who chose not to be insured or had little car insurance. No wonder Health Care Insurance premiums have jumped up so quickly. We had a good Health system, why do we have to be like other countries? Their death rates were so much higher than ours for the worst health problems, why do we have to get like those countries?? We are the United States of America and until Obama became president, we were #1in evrything world-wide. Now, we are the "laughing-stock" as a major country. If this healthcare is so great--why aren't our great leaders from the President and his Cabinet, our Congress--also being required to have ObamaHealthCare??
