I read the entire book. I thought it was a good story. Having lived in New Orleans French quarter, I could see, feel, smell, hear all that I experienced living there in this book. Pinch and Scrimp were great characters and believable. I compliment the author on that!
Now about the kindle edition. There were so many mistakes: words misspelled, homophone mistakes, poor formatting that at times I had to reread things several times! This is aggravating. When I attempted to ask the author about who edited/formatted her book, her response to me was to block me on twitter! Good grief. The whole reason was so she could investigate and correct these things. It's incumbent on authors to check these things out. This was not criticism of the story itself! Alas, I can't recommend nor give 5 stars to a book that, at times, was darn near unreadable.

This book hooked me from the start and a year later, I still think of the main characters. I absolutely loved the relationship between two friends...one now dead...as they fought to prevent the killings of foster children in New Orleans. The vividness of the details of New Orleans really set a powerful scene making this supernatural story more realistic.
I am sure authors hate to hear "this should be a movie," but this would be a good one. The mystery is strong and all characters, living and dead, are are complex. The story is action-packed and the twists often.
Most of all, after I read it, I kept thinking how much I wanted a "Pinch" in my life!

I know any words I add here might seem foolish if viewed by the author, but I shall be brave.
WOW.
Masterfully written.
Compelling. Makes you dream.
I could smell and taste this book while reading it.
It flows like an empty four lane highway with no speed limit, just watch out for what might be around the next bend or over there, in the shadows.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Once again.

I'm not sure how the book is, but if you're going to try to get people to buy it by Tweetspam, then you deserve a negative review.
